Homebuyer Education: Empowered Homeownership
Life Skills & Education
Taught by Gesher Human Service’s HUD certified homebuyer education counselors, you will learn about the entire homebuying process, including credit education, how to qualify for a mortgage, mortgage terminology, proper home maintenance and how to avoid foreclosure.
$50 fee per household. This class is also approved for the MSHDA Down Payment Assistance Program.

Women to Work
Life Skills & Education
Informational meeting: Thursday, January 9th from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Gesher Human Services 29699 Southfield Road.
Gain the skills to re-enter the workforce!
Women to Work is a FREE 4-week in-person course for women who have been out of the workforce and need immediate employment. You’ll receive:
– In-depth vocational assessment
– Employment-related group counseling & emotional support
– Information & referrals to support services
– Help with networking, resume writing & interviewing
– Financial management advice
– Stress management
The program starts Tuesday, January 14th and includes eight sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – noon and ends on Thursday, February 6th.
