How to Install Ares Wizard on Kodi 18.1 Leia / 17.6 Krypton

If you are an old Kodi user, there are minimal chances that you haven’t heard or used Ares Wizard build on your Kodi device. Unfortunately, the Ares project was shut down due to legal problems. But it is now back with an update and can be installed on Kodi 18.0 / 18.1 Leia and Kodi Krypton 17.6.

It is worth noting that the new update doesn’t bring any entertainment stuff in Ares Wizard build. It only supports the maintenance tool that we use to fix and optimize Kodi cache. So even if it doesn’t offer any movies / TV Shows, it is still the very important utility to install on your Kodi device. It helps us to optimize Kodi cache size that avoids Kodi buffering issues. How to install Ares Wizard on Kodi 18.1 / 18.0 / 17.6

Now that you know Ares Wizard is a very important and a must-have maintenance tool, follow the below steps to install Ares Wizard on your Kodi system.

Installation Prerequisite

Ares Wizard is a third party addon. Therefore, first follow these steps to allow such addons on Kodi:

Open Settings from the home-screen of Kodi (by clicking cog icon on the upper-left of the window)
Click System (for Kodi 18.x) or System Settings (for Kodi 17.6)
Click Add-ons on the left side
Click Unknown Sources on the right side and switch it on
Click Yes when prompted

The below step-by-step guide works for Fire TV Stick as well as PC (Windows and Mac).

Step 1: Launch Kodi on your device

Step 2: Click ‘Settings’ on the top left of the screen (cog icon)

Step 3: Open File Manager from the listed options

Step 4: Double Click ‘Add Source’ on the right

Step 5: Click <None> under ‘Enter the paths or browse for the media locations’

Step 6: Type in or copy paste the following Ares Wizard download URL and click OK: http://androidaba.com/addons/

Step 7: Enter the name you desire for the Add-on in the ‘Enter a name for this media source’ section. Choose a name you can easily identify later. For this article, I am choosing AresBuild

Step 8: Return to the Kodi home screen and click on ‘Add-ons’ on the left

Step 9: Click the Folder/Box icon on the top left

Step 10: Click ‘Install from zip file’

Step 11: Click AresWizard that you created in Step 7.

Step 12: Click the Script folder on the next window and then click the file named something like ‘script.areswizard-0.0.69.zip’

Note: If you used the alternative link in Step 6, first click Repos followed by script.areswizard-0.0.69.zip

Step 13: Wait for the add-on to get installed. You will get the notification on the top right of the screen. It may take several minutes (sometimes up to 5 minutes).

Step 15: Now go to Kodi home screen. Open Ares Wizard by heading to Add-ons > Program add-ons > Ares Wizard.

Step 16: Ares Wizard will now load

There is no separate guide for Ares Wizard FireStick installation. The above method I shared in this article works for Fire TV Stick, PC, and other Kodi supported devices. The only difference is that you can also download Ares Wizard zip file on your PC and then upload it in “Install from Zip File” section. In the case of FireStick, you have to use the URL method only.
