Great journalism. Marina Hinojosa; from the first time I heard her hilarious Christmas story and many others years later has expanded my views and awareness of what it means to be Latino. I have a gr...andson with Latino heritage. Being his very white looking grandma it is important for me to be somewhat informed and aware. I love LOVE Latino USA podcast! As a southern white girl, I grew up with false information and beliefs about the Latino culture. It saddens me that I was so ignorantly racist. One of the best podcasts I listen to. Maria is incomparable and I love listening to her. But there are many others who do great work here! Growing a new crop of great journalists! I will admit, I learned a lot from Maximo's speech today, but I must say that he proved the point I was trying to make with his interaction with me. He spent his time talking to us about "branding" o...urselves and then he asked if we had questions. When he picked people to answer their questions, he first asked their names, and then responded very genuinely and sincerely, made eye contact with them, and moved closer to them. Then I asked a question about overcoming prejudice when it comes to appearance. He didn't ask my name at all, he turned his back to me while I was talking, and then he gave the most insincere answer ever in a manner that made my peers around me laugh at me as if what I was asking was a stupid question. His actions right there proved to me that just because I was not dressed nice and wearing a fancy watch like the other people he treated with respect, I was inferior and suffered from the EXACT prejudice that I seeking help to overcome. So lastly I will say, I will be buying that suit ;) Not because it will make me confident and successful, but because you proved to me today that looks are the only thing that matters, not the content of your character. MLK would be disgusted with the way you just treated me. Good day sir. הצג עוד

Priscilla Villarreal, who calls herself "Lagordiloca," has become a highly controversial social media sensation in the border city of Laredo, Texas. Each night, Lagordiloca drives through the streets of Laredo chasing and live-streaming violent crime scenes, accidents and immigration raids. She has never had any training as a reporter, yet she has almost as many followers as Laredo's largest daily newspaper.
