Recently, scientists have discovered that water purchased in plastic water bottles contains twice as many plastic particles as water from the tap. The process for detecting plastic is described in many of the articles. I remember that students from this school had the best science projects at the Colorado science fair. What I was wondering is whether a student would consider conducting this experiment on water filtered by various brands of water filters as that has not yet been done. Is there a way we can get plastic particles out of our water or at least reduce the count? If there isn't, could the students design a filter that would do the job?
