Edie Windsor was an early IBM computer programmer, LGBT activist, and an active proponent of tech diversity. She passed away last week, on September 12, 2017. In 2015 the organization, Lesbians Who Tech, honored her work as a technologist and activist by naming a coding scholarship to recognize her work and her part in the Supreme Court striking down DOMA (The Defense of Marriage Act).
