How Does Compassion Prepare Leaders?

Compassion's Leadership Development Program identifies Compassion-assisted young men and women who have shown potential to become Christian leaders who can, in turn, influence their own churches, communities and nations. Through your donations, each qualifying student receives:

  • A scholarship for their college education
  • Full coverage for books and supplies
  • Housing and meals while attending college
  • Admission in a mentoring program to develop their potential
  • An additional Christ-centered curriculum with 24 leadership topics
  • Serving opportunities that enable them to demonstrate Christ-like leadership

The Leadership Development Program Helps Students Like Rowel

Rowel was bullied, mocked and abused as a desperately poor child in the Philippines. In a drunken rage, his father almost killed him with a machete.

Rowel started attending the Compassion Child Development Center in his community. Soon after this he was teaching Bible classes, singing with the praise and worship team, and was awarded a Leadership Development Scholarship to attend college.

While in college, Rowel accepted Christ. Switching his degree from accounting, he became the first Leadership Development Program student to take pastoral courses at a Bible seminary.
