Effective server monitoring, easy to deploy and manage.

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: We needed an cost effective solution for monitoring our servers and applications. Site24x7 proved to be a good choice that fit our needs.

Pros:

Very easy to deploy, manage and monitor a server, its services and applications. Monitoring alerts can be sent to a phone, text, email or browser.

Cons:

When a server goes down, it may take manual intervention to recognize that it back in service. Would like to see that issue fixed.

Excellent monitoring solution with pay-per-use licensing

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: For my company uptime is essential to our deliverables, and we're held to SLA requirements by contract. I can demonstrate both uptime and issues beyond our control that should not affect SLA (IE the customer doesn't renew their domain or uses a weak registrar).

Pros:

I've been with Site24x7 since early days and the team keep adding functionality and more granular and complex ways to test my essential services. Service is always on and both custom and provided distributed pollers are rock solid--if there's an alert I can be sure it's not a false negative. They also provide plenty of statistics and pre-alert diagnosis so things like regional outages or problems with a registrar are obvious from the outset.Plenty of ways to notify, including integrations with 3rd party solutions such as PagerDuty and xMatters for scheduling team coverage and response.

Cons:

Initially the service was limited in some ways but the team was very responsive to feedback and quickly upped their game.I think the only thing I'd like to change now is automatic ssl cert issue detection/warning of impending expiration for all https monitors.

Powerful monitoring tool with a host of unique features

5.0 last month New

Comments: Determining the availability of our applications and alerting our admins if there is an issue has been completely solved by Site24x7.

Pros:

For their agent-based monitors, the heartbeat mechanism is low impact and includes various built-in performance metrics, from CPU, memory, disk, network IO, etc. There is lengthy documentation for all aspects of this application. You will note the user community also includes git repositories for other features, including on custom plugins (and we've built several Python-based ones as a result).

Cons:

The UI leaves a little to be desired, with every important page being listed as a link on the left sidebar. It should be reorganized in a way that suits what the user needs. Secondly, formats are very specific on custom plugins and takes a little practice to master. Numerical outputs are HIGHLY preferred when throwing plugin outputs on a dashboard, of which there are only a few visualization options including multi-line charts and pie charts. More visualizations & support for long string outputs please!

An excellent all round cloud based monitoring tool

4.0 2 months ago New

Comments: Site 24x7 is our main monitoring tool for all servers in our environment capturing disk space, cpu usage and flagging up issues to us before they become a problem

Pros:

It was incredibly easy to hook Site 24x7 up to our Vcenter and pull in most of the servers and infrastructure that we wish to monitor. The ability to add in extras such as services and application monitoring on top is great.

Cons:

Sometimes it is difficult to determine where the licenses are being used for each monitor, the numbers don't always add up, a little clarity on this would be helpful

Excellent value at very low cost

5.0 2 months ago

Pros:

I got really amazed by the number of supported services and the myriad of configuration settings you can manage on each service. Even if it makes the software a little difficult to set up at first, you can manage lots of variable to make it suit your needs.

Cons:

As you have lots of settings available, some times you get puzzled were to configure it properly, for instance when setting up notifications groups/teams. But it is completely manageable, and you can reach your goals using different paths.

It's very easy to setup and you can go about monitoring within minutes. The reports are readable and initiative.

Cons:

The UI is little outdated and crowded. The other features are little more complex and require learning to implement.

For us it does what it says it will, and does it well

4.0 2 months ago

Comments: It's great, and best for us when we are not hearing anything from it.We've been saved from disaster when the SSL certificate for an inherited service we began monitoring was about to expire. This was not on our list of things to check.

Pros:

Fast alerting of any sites or services that are not accessible is critical & done well.Notification of coming possible problems such as SSL certificate expiry is great for business continuity.

Cons:

When you have a lot of sites or services to be monitored, the main screen can get a little busy / crowded.Planning the naming of the things you add to your monitoring account, then creating sensible groups can help to minimise this issue.

Good monitoring tool for our Internet, Web Apps, and serrvers

4.0 last year

Comments: Good experience. We use it just for the monitoring of our critical servers and applications. We get notified almost as soon as outages happen and we also get another notification when the app/ site is back up online.

Pros:

I like that we receive the alerts as soon as any of the critical servers and apps go offline. It also alerts us when our main Internet connection is down.

Cons:

It is very hard to recover the password once the person who set up the service is no longer with the organization. This has happened to me and I had to ask the ex-employee for the code he received on his phone to be able to recover the password. The customer service can't do much to try to verify that you are another employee and try to help you with resetting the password in any other way.

site24x7 Perfect tool to monitor you environment

5.0 4 years ago

Pros:

Alerting with sms and telephone call world wide. good overview of what is going on in you environment. clickpath monitoring of you websites. very powerfull, you can even upload your own services to monitor. Perfect tool

Cons:

When you get a phone call that a server of services is down. IT is some times hard to understand what the computer is saying. When you get the call in the middel of the night, is it's good that is starts by saying "this is site24x7 bla bla bla" but in the daytime is would be nice that the message is a little bit shorter and to the point.

Comments: Great value for the money

Pros:

Extensive functionality and compatibility with all different IT equipment and systems, immediate notifications of problems currently happening or about to. This software has saved us from serious downtime. Phone app is great.

Cons:

It is so extensive that you can get lost in the web interface, some functions could be a little simpler to manage.

Site24x7: A best in class product at a cost level for small business

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Using Site24x7, I am a rockstar with my clients. I can closely monitor critical systems and websites and react before they even know that something is wrong.

Pros:

It connects with every conceivable network, computer or software to give an amazing array of information. You can even set up a custom integration. I was able to use with AWS, Azure and onprem with minimal impact on system resources. I can provided my clients I am monitoring solid and detailed reports with a touch of a button. The alert system han email, SMS text or even call you if an alert is triggers and you can set up very sophisticated alert scenarios (that even use AI to reduce false alarms).

Cons:

The setup and a couple feature have a complexity that can be slightly challenging.

Great asset to our operations

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: It has been a great asset to our monitoring operations - we have one screen on site24x7 and another on our own metrics using Graphana. It is always up and always checked/used.

Pros:

Easy to get started. Easy to add features and expand. Excellent reliability.

Cons:

Tech support (problem resolution) could be better - but at least they do communicate with you.

Excellent way to monitor your sites and user experience

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Really good and affordable website monitoring with lots of features.

Pros:

This comes with so many different types of checks, but my favourite is the real browser which provides a good idea of whether anything is broken.

Cons:

Having more than 10 normal checks and more than one special check (like RUM or Real browser) gets expensive fast. Also would be great if we could get email reports with actual graphs + insights in the email vs having attachments. Also AI data analysis would be really useful to provide insights as to which assets / countries / times / days are the slowest / worst performing in a given period so we can fix things.

Pros:

Site24x7 was east to setup and get going. It didn't take too long to create an account and start monitoring our website availability.

Cons:

Some of the UI and usability could be improved, like setting maintenance periods and defining them.

Monitoring with ease

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: Site24x7 has been great in helping us grow our software. It's enabled us to monitor and give us an insight into what's going on so we can keep evolving our product.

Pros:

It can hit the ground running in a matter of minutes allowing us to start capturing data within minutes.

Cons:

If you are not technically minded, you can sometimes get lost in the interface, but it isn't too difficult to find your bearings after a few uses.

overall - great monitoring service

4.0 8 years ago

Comments: Overall, Site24x7 has been a great monitoring service. It's easy to setup monitors and start collecting stats immediately. The alerts are pretty flexible and there's direct integration with PagerDuty. We recently setup web application monitors using their tool to create synthetic transactions and they work great, giving us much better visibility into the application and whether it's performing--not just "up". My quibbles are that we have received false alarms on occasion, sometimes caused by their server agents, which have been a little flakey sometimes. Also, the pricing can be confusing. Responses from their customer service are too slow for my taste, but generally I get the information that need in the end.
