Before Booker, I was actually just using Google Calendars to book. We started with Booker when we built our business from the beginning and we built it from scratch. Booker has got a lot of functionality. It has a lot of tools that we were able to use very efficiently. The main things that we really liked was the flexibility in adjusting people's schedules, being able to split... Have classes and be able to offer a lot of different things that were all integrated into one system. So whenever we were booking classes, as well as massage appointments or acupuncture appointments, we were able to do it on one software.
Booker is a pretty big... Just like any other booking system, it's a pretty big overhaul. It's something that requires time to set up. It took me probably a couple of weeks to fully build and set up the Booker software system. I would recommend looking at all of the options out there. Booker is one of them, but there are plenty of others that also offer more compatibility and better interface.
I wish there was something better out there.

"Book It!"
Pros: Booker is a godsend for so many salons. It is very user-friendly and they have implemented the use of embedded training videos for all the features; this is a wonderful tool and works very well for people who are visual learners, which most stylists happen to be. For salon managers and owners, Booker offers a variety of tools: time-clock, sales tracking, inventory, tip allocation, expenditures/budgets, etc. Being a web-based software, it's very easy to add a widget or embed a link on your website and/or Facebook page to allow customers to easily schedule themselves for services. In addition, there is a built-in point of sale system that makes it easy to check out clients without needing to switch over to another program and/or system.
Cons: The downside to being a web-based software: if the server is down or there is an issue with the website, you cannot access your calendar or your point of sale system. Booker has been awesome enough to provide a separate website where they allow you to report issues of the system being down and also announcing known issues. Their customer service makes up for this issue.

"Using it for our Med Spa"
Overall: Booker does what we need, support has always been responsive and it is easy to use.
Pros: Ease of use so, easy to train. In the Day Spa industry front desk turnover is frequent so it is nice to be able to quickly show a new gal how to use the system.
Cons: We were previously Salon Iris customers and I am a programmer. With access to the database on that system I could run queries on anything in the database. Booker does not provide access to the SQL database so that is not possible. I do however have all of the reports that I need.
Also, it would be nice to have the ability to set access a little more granular. For example, if I give a gal access to look at gift card balances, I will also have given her access to modify gift card balances.

"Booker is great for a beauty service provider who is starting out "
Overall: I was happy with system. It helped keep my business organized
Pros: I was happy using Booker for my business for the first few years. It had online booking, kept track of clients individual notes and offered package services that clients could buy
Cons: It wasn't as advanced as other booking systems but was worth the monthly price

"Booker needs a giant debug and reevaluation "
Overall: Booker has been one of the most unreliable programs I have ever used and the support is never helpful. One day earlier this year it completely shut down for half the day and I couldn't book or check out clients. At least once a week it has a bug that effects some function of the software.
Pros: The software is simple enough to use and the ability to see the entire calendar of the day is nice.
Cons: It is full of bugs and constantly stops working. One day it shut down completely and we couldn't take payments or book appointments. The support line is very unhelpful.

"A Very Useful Tool for Every Business"
Overall: I use Booker as our point of sale system in a number of locations since everything is in one place, simplifying our work. I've tried seven other point-of-sale programs, including Salon Iris, Square, Micros, and others, but none of them compare to Booker as a POS program for salons.
Pros: Staff scheduling and operating hours are simple to do and follow to.There are so many options for categories to pick from, and I appreciate that you can create your own, so it's easy to add and remove services from our menu.
Cons: Too many errors and issues with making appointments. Sometimes it will state there is no personnel on duty or the service won't appear on the menu. Refreshing the page and logging out and back in again won't always work.
