- "Acterys leverages best-of-breed technology, SQL, PowerBI, and adds their secret sauce of enabling write back with pretty amazing techniques like splashing and planning and multi-level simultaneously."
- "My only negative, and i understand now that its a feature of the product. Its not intended to be a replacement of an ERP system or database, so is limited once the cube becomes too large."

"Great experience and ease to use tool for planning and budgeting"
Overall: Support, training, consulting and a good team worried about a satisfied client for long term partnership relationship.
Pros: Integration between ease to use tools like Excel and Power BI, so the user can use common financial tools and create stunning reports for Planning, Financial and Budgeting and control daily basis operation, with a great write back to a consistent model as a backend system. The integration with Financial systems like ABC, QuickBooks Online, and Xerox is a good tool.
Cons: Some financial basic knowledge that the user need as a pre requisite. In that case the user can ask for training, webinars or support.

"Great, affordable solution"
Overall: Really a great solution that has allowed us to level up our QB-based reporting. I am still astonished by its affordability.
Pros: The use case (for us) was very QB specific, but we were not able to resolve this with any other tool without a bunch of custom modeling. Acterys offers an incredibly easy and affordable solution.
Cons: No endpoint for refreshing datasets (that I'm aware of); also, PKs seem to be regenerated with each refresh, which can be a pain.
Alternatives Considered: CData Sync
Reasons for Choosing Acterys: We were not able to pull the GL as such from CData Sync. We were able to pull various other business objects, but it would've amounted to a lot of remodeling effort to get the GL view we wanted.

"Enhanced and flexible BI Writeback Planning Features from within Power BI"
Overall: Integrating Acterys with Power BI allowed us to replace an antiquated and cumbersome spreadsheet-based process with an online, real-time, dynamic process.
Pros: The built-in Writeback functionality and tight integration with the Microsoft Power BI platform enabled us to deliver a full Planning/Budgeting/Forecasting solution to our Users in weeks instead of months.
Cons: There are a few quirks and gotchas with using the Writeback to the Cube. Even after we thought we'd figured out all the details, they seem to come back to haunt us periodically.
Alternatives Considered: Workday Adaptive Planning
Reasons for Choosing Acterys: Cost and integration with existing Power BI architecture.

"Acterys Reporting using Power BI"
Overall: The whole team were more than willing to assist whenever and where ever they can.
Pros: Drill down to transaction level from high level Income/Balance Sheet/Cash Flow statement
Cons: Setting up the consolidation model and the mapping and calculation of the intercompany accounts
Alternatives Considered: Fathom and Spotlight Reporting
Reasons for Choosing Acterys: Pricing, integration with Xero and back-end system that allows drill-down to transactional level

"XP&A in a Day"
Overall: Solution fully integrated in Power BI, MS Excel and finally MS Azure/SQL Server, really seamlessly built on Microsoft technologies. Can be also setup OnPrem, which was one of our requirments. Extremely fast, performant write-back engine.
Pros: It took us literally only one day to implement an integrated financial planning model (PL, BS, CF) based on our existing Power BI reports. Fully parameterized simulation, budgeting, and rolling forecast. We could easily leverage from exisiting demo templates Acterys is packaged with. We could easily enhance our initial planning model to any further xP&A planning requirements by adding and connecting additional planning cubes.
Cons: Acterys provides really an overwhelming set of features, which could be challenging for beginners. But there's a great support team and the help file/Wiki with best practice samples and templates finally helping in any such situation.
