Webex Events (Formerly Socio)

Easy-to-use, comprehensive tool with great support team

Pros:

Socio (WebEx) is easy to use and offers a comprehensive variety of features. However, it's not overwhelming like many of the other tools on the market seemed. For a marketing team with no developer planning our annual conference, it let us do our jobs without any extra help, and pull off a fantastic event that far exceeded everyone's expectations. We couldn't have done without Socio.

Cons:

The backend navigation is a little clunky, but you get used to it.

Alternatives Considered: Bizzabo, ON24 and Hopin

Reasons for Switching to Webex Events (Formerly Socio): Affordability, an incredible team, and a product that had all the features we wanted that didn't have us paying for too many bells and whistles

Best I've Seen

Comments: Overall, my experience with Webex Events has been mostly positive. We constantly get positive feedback from our attendees about the mobile app, and as the admin I find it intuitive to upload and build out content. Webex is constantly adding new features and improvements.

Pros:

Webex Events is very user-friendly, both on the back end and end user side. It works well both on mobile devices and on a computer. It is visually appealing and customizable.

Cons:

Unless you purchase white glove service, your only support options are chat and a library of articles. Though the chat and articles are helpful, it would be much more efficient to be able to speak directly with a support tech and be able to connect attendees with support.

Webex Events is an excellent conference software but its not popular

Comments: Apart from being less popular, the software works seamless and it helps us run weekly team meetings successfully.

Pros:

We use Webex Events for our weekly team meeting to communicate with the team at office and the team working remotely. The video conferencing feature is by far my favourite as the quality is great and connects seamlessly.

Cons:

The deployment of the software is not an easy one as 90% of the team at our organisation are always hearing about it for the first time.

Ditch the Paper Conference Guide...There's an App for That!

Comments: I do not think we will ever hold an in-person conference again without this app!

Pros:

The ability to update the agenda in real-time and push notifications to our attendees made this our best in-person conference yet.

Cons:

It was a little clunky on some Android devices and it would've been great to capture custom fields via the mobile app so we could've used that for registration.

Alternatives Considered: Guidebook and EventMobi

Reasons for Choosing Webex Events (Formerly Socio): We decided to hold our conference in-person this year.

Reasons for Switching to Webex Events (Formerly Socio): We liked the Google sign-on option and the customization provided at the app-level.

Your All in Program!

Comments: Super customer service! Quick response and the only thing I didn't understand at the beginning is that you can have as many events as you want - that it is only about the total number of attendees.

Pros:

Easy to navigate and add features to the program. Registration was great for pulling reports for all you r attendees.

Cons:

The only thing I struggled a bit with is dropping a couple of odd, placed tables from our setup in the Vendor Expo onto the map.

Alternatives Considered: Cvent Event Management

Reasons for Switching to Webex Events (Formerly Socio): It was an all in product vs al a carte and overall more reasonably priced.
