On-draught @ Gebhard's Beer Culture, New York, NY.

Bends medicinal, hitting on artificial cherry with overly high sweetness. The wheat is nice, but the cherry syrup flavour is a serious faux pas.

I'll down this glass (and I'm glad it was only $2), and I get Michigan breweries' desires to make use of the state's montmorency cherries, but let's consider limiting their use to sour ales and other more fitting styles, aight?

On tap at Bottle Logic.
Pours a gold meets overripe peach hue. Soft white fluff rises and quickly retreats, leaving a firm white ring in the glass that leaves subtle lacing.
Smell is bright citrus. Lush.
Taste goes more in a earthy tea direction with nice, subtle lemon zest.
Mouthfeel is medium-lite. Carbonation medium.
Overall, a very interesting IPA incorporating tea.

On tap at Bottle Logic.
Pours gold, soft white foamy head comes up shyly, retreats to a lathery ring.
Smell is kinda perfumey, like in a soap. Slight citrus notes sneak in afterward.
Taste is overripe banana to begin. What seems like it is going gently piny takes a quick turn towards a flat earthiness, with some malt. Finally, some pithy grapefruit on the end.
Mouthfeel is lite, carbonation is medium.

This IPA wasn't bad, just nothing special about it that would make you have it again. Looks good but didn't have much head. I wasn't getting much aroma which I find a must for an IPA. It tasted very plain. I get plenty of bitter hops, but the profile is neither tropical, piney, citrus or dank. It just doesn't have much personality or distinctiveness. The drinkability was probably the most lacking. It wasn't exactly easy drinking.

Picked up a four pack of this recently. I also sampled it Friday night at the 2017 VT brewers festival. Pours a hazy blonde hue with a thing head into my glass. Tart, ripe citrus in the nose. Thirst-quenching citrus upfront (grapefruit) followed by cherry at the back. Incredibly tart and easy to drink for this time of the year. I really like this and congratulations to the the winner, Ted Ortiz Y Pino.

OK, so I first tried this beer at a festival and rated in my personal rating system as a 5.0. But I didn't add it here because festival reviews are not fair reviews due to palate fatigue.

But I always use my person ratings to determine if I should revisit a beer.

Today I came home with three 500ml bottles of FO..

I opened one tonight, which I poured into a small snifter.

Black, with a minor light brown head, which fully diminishes. The look is not this beers strength.

The nose is full of Vanilla, chocolate, bourbon, oak, caramel, chocolate, excellent.

The flavor carries the nose forward in a world class way mostly, although I don't pick up on the caramel in the flavor. Regardless the flavor is simply brilliant.

I find the body medium to full, a bit sticky in the finish. I'm left with vanilla and a touch of chocolate.

Overall, World Class. There is something special going on in Bottle Logic's barrel program.

Out of a 12 oz can, this imp stout has the expected coffee notes with some dark fruit mixed in. Body is a little thin and its a little fizzy. Not my favorite, but at 10 bucks a four pack it's reasonable. I wouldnt go out of my way for it.

Blondes usually are fun. This is no exception.

It pours yellow with a nice head that dissipates. The aroma is quite good - pungent grain and hops smell. The taste is just slightly bittered ale - right about where I expected it.

Overall this is a very competent blonde ale and I would recommend it. The cans should preserve it quite well.

A: Poured from the can into a Palm tulip. Body is clear - maybe it's because I had a bunch of Trillium NE-style IPAs two nights ago, but this beer has amazing clarity. Body is apricot-amber while sitting on the desk, but straw-yellow when backlit. Small whitish head on top.

S: Interesting - strong nose for an APA. Earthy, spicy and piney hops, along with a pilsner malt-type foundation and a bit of grassiness.

T: Again, more earth - more so than expected, at first. Then I get the fruitier stuff: Mango, citrus. But also a ton of piney hops as well, with pine needles doing battle with the sweeter malt foundation. Finishes with a bit of balance, though it leans towards the earthy & piney hops.

M: Lighter side of medium in heft. Fine-bubbled carbonation.

O: Good stuff. Solid APA that's nearly in the "Session IPA" range. Full of flavor for a beer of this strength.

White-tan head that dissipates quickly. Black color with rich chocolate scent. So deliciously aromatic. Flavor is pretty close to its scent, strong chocolate malty flavor with almost no bitterness, maybe only coming from hops. Mouthfeel is really solid and nice for a 5.4% beer. Fullers straight kills it.

Pours clear gold with a creamy frothy white foam head. Tastes like toasted biscuity bready caramel malts, honey, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, graham cracker, orange citrus, melons, grapefruit, pineapple, with bitter woody floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, slick with moderate carbonation. Overall a nice malty IPA.

750ML swingtop being drank out of a Brew Gentlemen tulip glass:

Look: Pours an amazing hazy yellow to light orange color! Tons of lacing present with that typical BG retention which is always amazing!

Smell: Amazing juice bomb! Tons of tropical notes present along with small amounts of pine!

Taste: Such a typical BG beer on the palate. Sooo soft on the palate with tons of citrus notes present on the taste! Not much bitterness on the back end or malt backbone which is soo typical of these BG DIPAs.

Feel: Medium to full mouthfeel. Typical BG softness on the palate!

Overall: This may be the best double IPA I have had from the crew at BG! Its amazing what they created out of these experimental hops for the Ales for ALS campaign! I am glad I bought growlers of this in back to back weekends to support this ALS campaign!

Look- It's very dark in space! No head. Alcohol slides around rim of the glass. Scary and inviting.
Smell- bourbon, carmel, light molasses, alcohol, no noticeable roast in the smell to me. No vanilla or pecan. Smells clean though nothing funky or off putting.
Taste- bourbon up front with the alcohol present but not hot. Surprising as it is the 2017 so it is fresh out of the barrel. I don't taste any nuttiness but I rarely do in beers even when they are added. I'd like to taste more but I think I would need to age it a bit. Maybe I'll pick up another.
Mouthfeel- soft on the pallet with little carbonation. It avoids being syrupy and is easy drinking for a new beer with a 13% ABV.
Overall- I love Stone Brewing and Will Wheaton. I will go back to again for one to age and when the next of the series comes out. Brew on Wil!!

Very impressive stout much like Guiness but only better. It's smoother, richer, fresher and more complex. The color is a dark black with a cascading tan head forming from the nitro. The taste has a great combination of dry and slightly sweet which balance each other very well and then you get a great aftertaste of slightly burnt, roasted coffee. The nitro is nearly perfect with a nice creamy smooth feel. Overall, a very well crafted beer that has enough complexity to keep you interested.

One of my drinking buddies is the only other person in our circle of friends who really digs smoked beers. On T, 18 July 2017, we got together on my front porch for smoked everything - beer, meats, cheeses, oysters. It was a great excuse to run through some bottles that I had been saving for just such an occasion.

I Pop!ped the cap & began a slow pour for each of us. An in-glass swirl raised a finger of dense, foamy, deep-brown head with great retention. Nose was rich - a combination of dark chocolate & heavy smoke. Mouthfeel was medium, but very carbonated. I initially got a dense, dark chocolate flavor on the tongue, but it was quickly followed by a rush of smoke that seemed to fill my nostrils & sinuses. Finish was dry and very smoky with the chocolate flavor lingering well past the swallow.

Had on tap at the Sierra Nevada/ Ocean Odyssey's Beer Camp Across the World tap fest. All beers were incredibly fresh. Huge thanks to Travis for allowing me to do independent quality checks on every beer.
Been so many years I had forgotten how good Duvel is. Thought the lemon hoppy additions enhanced ; did not distract. The Duvel yeast really came through/was just excellent. Having this big refreshing golden ale on tap; smooth as a baby's bottom and so fresh...felt like I was in Belgium; not Maryland. Pass the frites!
