Transit Connections Brochure
Download our BART Transit Connections brochure from our brochure section, to see the various transit services that can be taken to and from BART. This guide also shows the locations of popular destinations near BART Stations. These brochures are available in all BART stations.
Transit Transbay BART alternatives located near BART stations
While infrequent, we from time to time experience incidents that prevents transbay service and we recommend seeking alternative means of transportation. Recent examples have been a downed PG&E electrical wire or a fire at a construction lot near the West Oakland station that damaged our tracks.
During these incidents we rely on our transit partners to get you where you need to go. Not everyone is an expert at knowing how to get across the bay without BART and without a car.
With that in mind, we’ve created www.bart.gov/transbayalternatives cheat sheet that shows you transbay bus lines and ferry options located within walking distance to BART stations. The idea is to show you how to get as far as you can on BART and then where you can connect to a bus or ferry during these incidents. We also want to show a variety of pick up locations to avoid all riders trying to board a bus at the same stop.
Late Night Bus Pilot Project
BART and AC Transit have partnered to implement a pilot project designed to enhance AC Transit’s late night bus service. On Friday and Saturday nights, service frequency on lines 800 (San Francisco to Richmond BART) and 801 (downtown Oakland to Fremont BART) will be increased. (A new line, Line 822 between San Francisco to points along BART’s Pittsburg/Bay Point line, was tested but discontinued due to low ridership.) Line 800 starts at 24th Street/Mission Street on these nights.
Highlights of the Late Night Bus Pilot Project include:
- New San Francisco stops at 16th/Mission and 24th/Mission
- More frequent service between San Francisco and Richmond
- More frequent service to Downtown Oakland nightspots
- More frequent service between Downtown Oakland and Fremont
