In November 2016, a federal court blocked a U.S. Department of Labor rule drastically expanding overtime eligibility from taking effect on December 1, 2016. The legal challenge, which ASAE joined, argued that the agency had overstepped its authority and issued an onerous regulation. The court will reach a final decision on the overtime rule in 2017.
