National Aviation Community CenterNACC

AOPA’s National Aviation Community Center (NACC) is located at Frederick Municipal Airport in Maryland. It’s a great example of what can be done to make airport visits fun, and flying more accessible …by turning a vacant hangar into an aviation community center, a welcoming gateway to the local airport.

Guests have the unique opportunity to view small aircraft up close, sit in the cockpit, explore its controls, and discuss flying with a pilot. Flight simulators are available for use and offer a taste of the thrill of flight, including a full-motion Redbird FMX flight simulator for those who want to feel the motion of flying without ever leaving the ground!

Not only is the NACC open to the surrounding community, but the facility can be booked for aviation-themed events throughout the year. Already the NACC has hosted weddings, barbeques, and aviation movie nights, as well as private meetings, parties, and events for groups like the Civil Air Patrol and other local clubs
