Hi! I’m Adrianna. This is my blog where I share my favorite recipes and random tangents about life with you all. Thanks for being here.
This blog is fueled by copious amounts of rap music, sugar, butter and flour. I first started this blog when I was working a job that left to be desired in the creativity department. After a few years of plugging away, I was able to leave and now I do it full-time. YAY!
The recipes I love to make are ALWAYS comforting and cozy and often times are inspired by my Latin-American background. My mom is Peruvian and my dad is Colombian. You’ll find some traditional classics from both countries as well as a bunch of mash-ups that hopefully aren’t offensive (I was raised in the US, after all). Another thing you’ll find a lot of: pastries, cakes, breakfast stuff and lots and lots of pie.
In 2015, I released The Year of Cozy: 125 Recipes, Crafts & Other Homemade Adventures (Rodale). It was the most fun and exhausting experience ever and I loved every minute of it. And in 2016, I came out with a coloring cookbook called A Cozy Coloring Cookbook: 45 Recipes to Eat, Cook & Color. If you’d like to read about them more, hop on over to my Cookbooks Page.
I currently live in Los Angeles, California with my fiancé, Joshua, and corgi Amelia.
If you’re a brand and would like to work together, feel free to shoot me an email for rates and media kit. In the past, I’ve worked with Scharffen-Berger, Anthropologie, Vitamix, Clover Petaluma, Stella & Chewy’s, Coolhaus, Google Home and more!

Love you girls!
Mom
Yay! I’m so glad to have found your blog. I love that you are self taught (and that your mom left a comment? hehe).
Indeed, my Mom is arguably our number one fan!
I just found your blog via foodbuzz, and it is absolutely delightful! Your recipes and photos are gorgeous. I look forward to catching up on all you’ve already posted and keeping up with everything new. I’m trying your marshmallow milkshake as soon as I eat all my Easter candy.

Stumbled upon your blog today and am lalaloving it! I’m browing recipes when I should be working and it’s all good!
Yup, I pretty much love A Cozy Kitchen. For real. When I read “it’s usually just grown-up versions of stuff I ate as a kid” I was like, “Yes!” (I seriously eat “grown up” mac ‘n cheese, like, once a week. Maybe not that often, but close.) Anyway, I love your recipes, love your photos, love the look of your blog – everything! Thanks for being so lovely and consider me subscribed! 🙂
I just wanted to let you know that I came across your blog today and it’s amazing. All the food looks delicious! I am most definetly following you now.
Hi I came across your blog, while blog hopping & instantly loved the header & feel of the blog. Gonna visit lot more!!
I came across your blog by absently clicking through stumbleupon the other day and have been hooked on it since. I have a list a mile long of recipes I want to try! I absolutely love food, but I am a terrible cook so I love that fact that all of your recipes are so simple yet look sooooo delish. I think I have found a new favorite corner of the internet. Thanks so much for sharing your great ideas.
Hey! I prepared the Coca-cola Cupcakes today! WON-DER-FUL!!!
LOVE IT!
Nice recipes ! There appears to be a problem with your recipe index. Scroll down past appetizers and you will see what I mean. Hope you can fix it.
Best Regards,
Bert
Love your site– so much fun. Apple pie, applesauce, apple cake, apple everything!
Where are you located? Should put it on your wesite.
In the first sentence of this page, I say I live in LA (Los Angeles).
I just found your website. I instantly fell in love with your blog. I can’t wait to try your recipes!

Like your blog! Stay real and truthful and you will go far! 🙂 thanks!
Hi, Adrianna, I love your blog!! How did you learn cooking? I am becoming one of your fans now! Hehehe.. 🙂
Hi Bella! My parents taught me, and I also learned a lot by trial and error. Thanks for being awesome!
I found your blog about ten minutes ago. Now, you’re my new best friend. Together we’ll make lots of baked goods. I hope you’re okay with that.
Totally okay with it. I love new friends! x
Omg! You are adorable! I’m sooo excited to try some recipes! I LOVE all the breakfast ideas, it’s my favorite meal of the day.
Hi Adrianna!
I am actually writing because I’m curious about your web design! Did you hire someone to design your site? I think it’s just the sweetest. I would love the contact information for the designer if you’re willing to share. 🙂
My friend, Teri Lyn Fisher, from the blog, Spoon Fork Bacon did it. If you’d like, you’re welcome to hop over to her website and contact her for rates. 🙂
Hi Adrianna!
I came across your site on bloglovin’. The glitter nails caught by eye but everything on here looks amazing and delicious! Scrolling through, I wanted to comment on every post! 🙂 I will definitely be trying some of your dishes this weekend! 🙂
YAY! So glad you found me. Truly. Happy you’re here!
I love your website. Thank you for such beautifully appealing layouts and delicious, easy-to-follow recipes. Your roasted brussel sprout leaves idea is genius! I made them for New Year’s Day Dinner and threw them in a bowl with wild rice, roasted black eye peas (never cooked them that way before, but yum!), sautéed mushrooms and sprinkles crispy bacon over the top and it was a huge hit! I can’t imagine why I’d never eaten B-Sprouts this way before?!?! Happy New Year to you!
Hi Mandy! Thanks for being so sweet! Glad you loved the b-sprouts. And glad you’re here!
Just added you on Facebook. So happy. I told you a while ago that you inspired me to make my own food blog. The one I made was a flop so I made a new one and I love it! Thanks for the ongoing inspiration and abundance of food porn. 🙂
p.s. here it is if you want a peek http://phonyfeast.tumblr.com/. <3
Found your blog via Saveur.com and you’re the first food blogger I’m following! Plus, I have actually tried two of your recipes over the weekend (polenta fries and peanutbutter cookie sandwiches). Love the pictures, tasty recipes and fun writing!
I love this. Thank you thank you.
Are you Facebook/Feed/Twitter buttons intentionally placed that way to spell FAT? hehehe..
I ADORE your blog! But I can’t seem to access your Recipe Index…is this a problem only I’m having?
Honestly, best blog ever though!
Adrianna,
I LOVE your blog! It is so pretty and simple. I am so very new to the blogging world and feel so overwhelmed with everything. How did you get all of your gadgets in the right place and make everything look so nice?
Keep up the good work.
Did I mention the food looks marvelous? 🙂
Just found your blog by way of PW, I love it!!
YAY. So glad you found me!
I seriously log on to your blog more than I do Facebook (which is a lot). Love love love it. I make the portobello fries at least once a week. I die.
Whoa. This is the nicest thing ever. THANK YOU. I love those portobello fries, too.
Oh my goodness.
I have no idea why it’s taken me SO long to discover your blog, but I’m so happy I’m here now! Love your recipes and your photography is stunning! Plus I miss living in LA sometimes (went to college there) so looove seeing a fellow west coaster. 😉
Hello, I am Evelina, an Italian student in Lecce (Salento), and I am working on a project concerning the Italian style food programme. May you please tell me your email address? I’d like to invite you to a food festival we are organizing in late may 2012. Thank you very much.
Your blog is simply incredible! A long-time favorite. I’ve been eyeing your blog design for some time as well! This may be an odd question, but do you know the name of font used in your banner at the top?
Hi Jennifer! Thank you! The font is called “archer.”
Awesome! Thank you so much! I look forward to trying lots of your amazing recipes!
Oh my God! I just replied back regarding your zucchini fry recipe which sounds so awesome but then I look at your info and see that you’re from LA…how great is that!! One of the reasons I love your zucchini recipe and am feening for some is because I grew up on them in California (I’m originally CA born and raised). I’m a serious foodie and love your site…thanks for sharing the good stuff with the rest of us! 🙂
YAY! So glad you found me. I love those zucchini fries. They’re one of my favorite things on this site. Hope you enjoy them. 🙂
Hi, found your blog through the links page of Deb’s Smitten Kitchen. Your pics are gorgeous! Makes me want to try out all of your recipes! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Hi Adrianna
Just found your blog from Start Cooking blog. You sound like a very warm and easy to meet person. Can’t wait to receive your e-mails
found you on another blog-it was you name that attracted me, and your humour that will keep me coming back
[…] came across the original recipe shared by the beautiful Adrianna over at A Cozy Kitchen. Make sure you head over and check out the original recipe along with some […]
Have to say that I just stumbled upon your site because I was searching for a chickpea harissa recipe and I love your blog. Great recipes with lots of pictures and fun anecdotes.
We also live in LA and just rescued a pup we found on PetFinder two weeks ago. He’s a joy (if a bit of a handful.) Rescue’s definitely the way to go. And there’s always a way to work with your landlord (addl deposit, pet rent,) if you’re reluctant to move.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks.
I absolutely love your blog. The pictures, the recipes, the way you tell “the story”. <3
Thank you, Bea. Glad you’re here!
Hi Adrianna!
SO glad I found your blog! I just started one (lefork.com) and it’s a little daunting, so it’s nice to find a good food blog that I think is so organized! Did you use a WordPress theme? If so, which one?
Hi Dionna, YAY, so glad you found me. The WordPress theme that’s used is called Thesis and then a friend of mine customized it from there. Hope that helps! x
I’ve heard such good things about the Thesis theme. I think it’s time I make the switch. Thanks! 🙂
So cool! I live RIGHT by LA as well! I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere….but maybe it’s just wishful thinking? 🙂 Anyway, I love the look of your blog~and congratulations on writing a cookbook, I bet you’re so so excited for that. PS: breakfast is my fave meal too.
Thank you, Miss! If you do see me around, please say hello!
I’m so glad I stumbled upon your blog!
You’re certainly someone to look up to 🙂

Discovered your blog thanks to Etsy! I love your blog and cant wait to try the recipes. Congrats on the upcoming cookbook.
Hello! I have added your beautiful blog to my ‘blogs I love’ list. Hope this is okay. Have a wonderful day. x
Thank you, Cass!
I just wanted to say how much I loved not only the food, but the comic relief when reading your recipes on the website. It’s so refreshing to know theres someone else out there that has the same passion towards great foods, taste and respect for ingriedients….it’s also nice to read your little stories which make the recipes, in my humble opinion, a bit more fun. I LOVE the caprese salad..make it all the time, especially when i want to make people think I know what I am doing..lol Thank you, and I havn’t tried one of your recipes yet that hasn’t knocked mine or my kids (including the kid I call husband) socks off.! I will be keeping my eye out for your book this spring for sure!
HI Adrianna! I have been perusing your blog and really like it! Will definitely give some of your recipes a whirl, first one being the Avocado Humous.
I must also add I like your profile pic on here, you have that “Im up to something, So be ready!” look, really adorable and attractive!
Kudos and all the very best from Kuwait!
Hi,
I am brand new to blogging and considering going to a blog conference next year. I thought I would reach out to some of my favorite bloggers to ask your opinion. BlogHer or Blissdom? Have you been to either, I would love to get advice from people who have been to both to see which they prefer.
Thanks for your help
Ronda
So so impressive… Especially for such a young woman! Congratulations on a fabulous food career!
You have such a beautiful blog, congrats!
Hugs from Italy.
Happy Holidays!
I am a breakfast person too. So happy to find your site and will be using some of your recipes for catering. Thanks so much.
You are so accomplished. I love your sense of humor. I’m happy I found your delish blog. Hugs!
So glad to have found your beautiful blog “tocaya”. Me encanta! looking forward to reading more and the book!
I’m glad you found me!
Greetings! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog
platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had problems
with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
HI Adrianna, I have nominated you for a Shine On award – I have really enjoyed your blog and look forward to all your posts!

Hello Adrianna, I found your blog via Vintage Kitchen Notes, and am so glad I did! I was reading your Green Spaghetti post, and could just SEE my mom, in place of yours! She, too, was not to be messed with…and she, too, became my best friend. I think the first words I remember her saying was, “Learn to cultivate a taste for…” whatever it was I didn’t want to eat at the time! But, I DID learn to like…LOVE all kinds of food, and became the foodie I am today because of her! I learned so much from her…I miss her so much. Thank you for that little snippet of “mind-rewind” I had while enjoying your story!
Marysue, I’m so glad you found me. Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Much love, Adrianna
Just wanted to make a comment about your picture. I don’t like it. I’m not saying this to say that I don’t like you. Of course, I don’t know you. I just don’t like the picture of you. Your glance sideways is really awkward and hides you. I think if you are going to post a picture of yourself on your website, it should be face forward. So people can see you. Not cheeky you. Anyway, i’m going to try that mayonnaise cake recipe if I ever reach my goal weight and I can afford to splurge a bit.
I think the picture is perfect. You do not have to appeal to what anyone’s sense of a “good picture” is. The portrait you chose seems to capture your personality, and if an image cannot do that, then what is the point?! A boring portrait of you facing forward would be just that, boring! Be unique! Don’t change it!
[…] Adrianna suggests putting salt & vinegar potato chips on top, another thing I don’t care for (why did I make this recipe?), and something we also didn’t have on hand (because I don’t like them). We did have cheese and crackers. That was our crunch. […]
Hi,
Love the blog & recipes but please do not sell my personal info or email address to a 3rd party. Junk emails are worse than the snail mail ones…other than saving trees but just as annoying. The request may be to late because I signed up for your blog. Not saying you do sell the info (I don’t know) but a definate after thought. Thanks.
Hi Carol, I’m not sure if you’re spam or not. Your email address seems fishy, but I absolutely do not sell email addresses to a 3rd party.
Oh my! I so love your blog. You got all the recipes I would really want to try making one day. You have a new stalker here 🙂
Hi hi! WElcome! Glad you’re here.
HI Adrianna,
i am coming to LA in december and was wondering if you have any dinner / lunch recommendations to share about LA? i usually like to ask the locals as they know the best food around.
we are keen to try italian, mexican and foodtrucks!
Oh!! I’m so glad I just saw this. What part of town will you be staying in?
hi Adrianna we are staying in a b&b (garden cottage b&b) that is near the grove.
I hope that is a good area to stay. 🙂
It’s a great place to stay because it’s super central. Here’s a short list of recommendations:
Bakeries/Breakfast/Good Coffee – Short Cake, Proof, Huckleberry, Hart + Hunter (not a bakery, per se but they have awesome baked goods), Sqirl.
Dinner – Mozza Pizzeria (pizza), Angelini Osteria (Northern Italian), Bestia (Southern Italian, expensive but worth it – make a res far in advance),
Taco trucks – Taco Zone (truck in Echo Park), Tacos Arizas (truck in Echo Park), Rico’s Mar Azul Mariscos Truck (in Highland Park – by far my favorite), Kogi BBQ (a staple), Guisados (restaurant for tacos in Echo park).
Let me know where you end up going. Have an awesome trip. I love this city!
Oh and you’re super close to Short Cake. Let me know if you end up going – they’ll take care of you! 😉
thank you for the recommendations!!! i will check them out and let you know.
hi adrianna,
where do you think we should spend our time shopping at? downtown, pasadena ? where do you usually shop?
we have done all the touristy la stuff the last time so looking for somewhere else to walk and hang out. 🙂
First time I’m stopping by and I’m in awe with the beauty of your blog. (looking to upgrade mine very soon) And high-five to breakfast! It’s the most important meal of the day!
Thanks for being here! xo

I don’t sell people’s email addresses.

I’m in the process of starting my own food blog (and hopefully will be just as successful as you one day :), and was just curious …. did you go to culinary school?? I’m not a professional, but I just love food and love to eat and try recipes I find online, cookbooks, etc. I was just wondering perhaps the secret to your awesome recipes is the result of an awesome culinary education ??

Hola Adrianna!
I just stumbled onto your website and LOVE it! I was pulled in by the Enoki Mushroom Stir Fry and kept clicking through to your other links, like the ginger Cauliflower Rice. Love! I subscribed to your feed so I’m looking forward to future posts!

Kristina
Hi Kristina, Welcome. Glad you’re here!
I found your cranberry banana oat bread on Google and came to your site, just subscribed. Bread is in the oven right now! 🙂
Oh yayy! Hope you enjoy it! Let me know how it turns out! xo
Whoops! I wrote a comment & promptly lost it in internet space somewhere. So, here goes my second attempt: Love your blog/website. I just discovered it today while searching for grain-free treats for my new doggy. I clicked on your recipe and was rewarded with photos of the most a-DOR-able puppy dog!! (Your corgi pup Amelia). She’s a doll. I’d love to see some pics of her at different stages of her growth, did you post any?
Thanks for recipe too, of course.
Just discovered you & your gorgeous recipes/food! Trying out a recipe or two over this long holiday weekend. Just a quick note of support from New England! If you schedule any book signings, don’t forget Boston! Rock on, girl!

Hey Adrianna,
Could you give advice on cooking with little money for food?
I would love to start cooking some of your recipes- I saved the goat cheese tomato soup a long time ago- but at this point in my life I can barely eat in general, much less have ample amount of money for grocery (ingredient) shopping. It helps to have spices and the basics already stocked up, I’m sure.
Thanks dahling- hope to hear from you soon!
