ABMS has announced that Vanderbilt University Medical Center is participating in the ABMS Multi-Specialty Portfolio Approval Program™. VUMC physicians who are Board Certified by one of 21 of the 24 ABMS Member Boards participating in the Portfolio Program may receive Maintenance of Certification Improvement in Medical Practice credit for their engagement in quality improvement work at the health system.

ABMS has announced that Johns Hopkins Medicine has joined the ABMS Multi-Specialty Portfolio Approval Program™. JHM physicians who are Board Certified by one of 21 of the 24 ABMS Member Boards participating in the Portfolio Program, and are engaged in eligible activities approved by the JHM Office of Continuing Medical Education and the Armstrong Institute for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, can now obtain maintenance of certification credit.

The American Board of Pediatrics (ABPeds) has submitted an application for a subspecialty certificate in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Please provide your comments on the application by August 19, 2016.

ABMS announced today the addition of Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School online courses to the ABMS MOC Directory, powered by MedEdPORTAL’S CE Directory (MOC Directory). Diplomates of several of the ABMS Member Boards may now meet their Board’s Lifelong Learning (MOC Part II CME), Self-Assessment (MOC Part II SA), and Patient Safety requirements by participating in the IHI Open School courses.

ABMS has announced the development of CertLink™, a web-based assessment platform that leverages smart mobile technology to explore new assessment approaches. CertLink will support the design, delivery and evaluation of innovative pilots at ABMS Member Boards. Some Member Boards will launch their pilots as early as 2017.
