BREAKING NEWS: Guess what? We have a date! Malka leifer was initially arrested on the 17th of August 2014. 5 years, 1 month, 7 days & 52 court dates later, Judge Lomp will rule on Leifer's mental fitness to stand trial. 23rd of September! We will be there #bringleiferback

3/3 The defence will then have 30 days to respond and write their closing arguments! The judge is then expected to make a final ruling on Leifer's mental fitness to stand trial. Who knows.....we may begin the actual extradition trial (1-2 hearings) this year! #bringleiferback

2/3 The prosecution have therefore decided there is no need to cross examine the defenses witnesses. Once the court rules on this decision (in a few days), the prosecution will have 30 days to submit their closing arguments!

1/3 Update from Israel: Is it too soon for a glimmer of hope?? 9 years since we gave our police statements. 5 years since Leifer's first arrest. Judge Lomp ruled on Wednesday that the only relevant witnesses in the extradition case are the psychiatrists.

Today, judge ruled that if the prosecution decide not to cross examine these witnesses & allow their written testimonies to be submitted - does not mean that prosecution agrees to this content. The prosecution must make a decision by tomorrow. Updates tomorrow #bringleiferback

1/2 News from Israel: Court date #52 There are 3 witnesses for the defense - Leifer's brother, sister & neighbor.

We expect the prosecution to advise the court whether it agrees with proposed new approach. Both will submit a list of witnesses & the evidence they will present. Dates can hopefully be set for these testimonies & we will have an idea of when this part of the process will be over

2/3 The defence agreed for the prosecution to submit this evidence in written form, as long as the prosecution also submit evidence about the police investigation that may not otherwise have been submitted.

1/3 Who's ready for Court date #52 today? Open hearing @ 7pm (Au) in a Jerusalem court. On Sunday a discussion was had on whether evidence about the 2018 undercover investigation will be led in written form, or whether witnesses will have to give evidence. #bringleiferback

I'll pick my 8yr old up from school $ she'll ask me about my day, I'll tell her just the basics. At 6pm if she's occupied I'll turn on the news and watch our #bringleiferback campaign on the screen. Most times I'll wait till she sleeps to watch the clips available online.

We'll share our frustrations, hopes and the toll this constant waiting game has had on us. I'll breathe a sigh of relief when the cameras leave and hope there is no breaking news in #Israel, the thought of more cameras that night too overwhelming. #bringleiferback #storytime

We'll expect the journos to turn up, knowing already how they'll rearrange my furniture. Sometimes the camera men will bring a reporter, other times we will speak 2 a random spot on the wall answering questions through an ear piece. #bringleiferback #storytime #israel
