In the 17 July #ByElection in WCape, the DA retained the seat won in the 2016 Municipal Elections. New DA councillor in Ward 20 George Municipality is Regina Windwaai. DA retained the seat won in 2016 with 32.56% of votes (49.61% in 2016). Voter turnout was 62.24%.

In 22 May #ByElections2019 in Gauteng & NWest, ANC retained 2 seats won in 2016 Elections. New ANC councillors are Phikisile Masina in Ward 84 Ekurhuleni Munic (67.95% of votes, 31.10% turnout); & Gontse Molotsi in Ward 12 JB Marks Munic (88.93% of votes, 54.89% turnout).
