Wizards is a 1977 American animated post-apocalyptic science fantasy film about the battle between two wizards, one representing the forces of magic and one representing the forces of industrial technology. It was written, produced, and directed by Ralph Bakshi.
Wizards is notable for being the first fantasy film made by Bakshi, who was previously known only for urban films such as Fritz the Cat, Heavy Traffic and Coonskin. It grossed $9 million theatrically from a $1.2 million budget, and has since become a cult classic.
Earth has been devastated by a nuclear war instigated by five terrorists, and it has taken two million years for the radioactive clouds to once again allow sunlight to reach the surface. Only a handful of humans have survived, while the rest have changed into mutants who roam the radioactive wastelands. In the idyllic land of Montagar, the true ancestors of man — fairies, elves and dwarves — have returned and live in peace. During a celebration of 3,000 years of peace Delia, queen of the fairies, falls into a trance and leaves the party. Puzzled, the fairies follow her to her home and discover that she has given birth to twin wizards. Avatar, a kind and good wizard, spends much of his boyhood entertaining his mother with beautiful visions, while Blackwolf, a mutant, never visits his mother, but spends his time torturing small animals.

Película de culto de Ralph Bakshi, que recuerdo haber visto sólo dos veces en mi niñez aunque NO ES PARA NIÑOS. Para quien quiera saber, el DVD y Blu-ray de EU contiene el audio y los subtítulos en español.
"A Fantasy Vision Of The Future." In a post-apocalyptic future, humankind is destroyed and the fantastic races of ancient legend emerge to repopulate the earth. In fulfillment of an ancient prophesy twin sons -- wizards -- are born to a queen of the faeries: one good, the other aggressively evil. They are destined to collide in a war that will destroy the new earth. Blackwolf, the evil son, is a deformed mutant and is cast out of the community. He seeks to rediscover the ancient technologies of warfare and destruction in order to gain his revenge and subjugate the free peoples of the earth. Avatar, the good son, is human and seeks a passive life of non-aggression in order to avoid responsibility for the bloodshed and despair prophesied. Blackwolf's disastrous attempts to assassinate his b...
Blackwolf musters the troops and projects ancient nazi propaganda into the skies to motivate them
Composed by Andrew Belling. Sung by Susan Anton. This song did not fare well over the decades, here's a better rip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Umnin9UDo Available for purchase at: http://lalalandrecords.com/Wizards.html
A funny scene from the classic 1977 animated fantasy adventure film Wizards. In this scene, Blackwolf's incompetent soldier Max tries to shake fellow soldier Fritz awake, but thinks Max have been killed by the fairies and opens fire. Fritz wakes up and tells Max he is okay. But, Max accidentally shoots and kills Fritz.
The climax of "Wizards" by Ralph Bakshi: how the Harry Potter series SHOULD have ended (kidding) ... really, just good ironic fun and a twist that one would not expect in a fantasy movie.
I'd like to run away from you
But I can't
I d like to go to another world
But I can't...
You make me sad
You make me cry
You make me mad
You make me die
Please set me free
When I gave you my heart and my soul
I yearned for your love
When I gave you my heart and my soul
I waited for you
I love you more than myself
I m being so crazy
I don't care about nobody else
I felt my heart start to cry when I look in your eyes
You are the reason I wake up everyday
I love you more than myself
I'm being crazy
I love you so much
You stoled my soul
Oh oh oh
Please set me free
