While these Articles got the young nation through its war with England, they weren't of much use when it came to running a country. So, the founding fathers decided try their hand at nation-building, and they created the Constitution of the United States, which you may remember as the one that says We The People at the top. We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Article. I.
Section. 1.
All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
Section. 2.
The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.
No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.
Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the State of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode-Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New-York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five, and Georgia three.
When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies.
The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.
Section. 3.
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.
Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year; and if Vacancies happen by Resignation, or otherwise, during the Recess of the Legislature of any State, the Executive thereof may make temporary Appointments until the next Meeting of the Legislature, which shall then fill such Vacancies.
No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.
The Senate shall chuse their other Officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the Absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of President of the United States.
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

The highest authority in America (under God) would not be any person at all. The highest authority in our land is a document, the Constitution of the United States.

Russ Walton put it right: government is not a producer, it is a taker, and a spender. Every dollar spent by the government is a dollar taken from the private sector, from the workers and investors. Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business.
The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option.
Look, it is simply not shown anywhere in the Bible to redistribute wealth. The Bible does not support this idea. The whole essence of Charity is voluntary! No money can be extracted from you by Robin Hood or the state and be considered Charity, because its taken from you, its involuntary.
An interesting analogy D James Kennedy used that a Christian life be compared to a hurricane. "In Florida we are familiar with hurricanes. First is that calm still warm center, and second there are the swirling winds that roar around that center.
In spiritual life, if were going to be a hurricane we need two elements, the warm calm center, which is our private life with Christ, our faith in Him, devotion and desire to live for him, this is what fuels the power of the hurricane.
But there must be something that comes out of that. Christians must be engaged in the cities and towns of America, potent, and able to make good. A vast majority of Evangelical churches in America today have become Pietistic and they have little or no effect upon the culture. Piety is good, devotion to religion, but Pietism is not because it makes the Church impotent. They never engage politics.
In other words if that warm calm center (Pietism) went across Florida it would not change much, because there are no powerful winds."
So what are we to do? Christ said be salt and light. Salt of the earth,( so you are not good for nothing.) Light of the world and salt of the earth, these are unique and different.
Christians have obligations in politics, schools, media, business, families, churches, and yes; motion pictures. Did you know when the motion picture camera was invented it was offered to the Church and they turned it down because see they were Pieties, and could not see any practical use for it.
Christ said in Matthew 28:18-20...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. As wonderful as John 3:3 is, "all that I have commanded you means ALL that is taught in the FOUR Gospels, and the entire Bible, including what the Bible says how to influence governments for good.
Does political activism do any spiritual good? If it is part of what God teaches us in Scripture, then of course it does spiritual good because it pleases God, and Christ is seeking transformed lives, and then a transformed world.

United States Constitution
The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the United States of America. The Constitution, originally comprising seven articles, delineates the national frame of government. Its first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six entrench concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it.
Since the Constitution came into force in 1789, it has been amended twenty-seven times. In general, the first ten amendments, known collectively as the Bill of Rights, offer specific protections of individual liberty and justice and place restrictions on the powers of government. The majority of the seventeen later amendments expand individual civil rights. Others address issues related to federal authority or modify government processes and procedures. Amendments to the United States Constitution, unlike ones made to many constitutions world-wide, are appended to the end of the document. At seven articles and twenty-seven amendments, it is the shortest written constitution in force. All five pages of the original U.S. Constitution are written on parchment.

Constitution
A constitution is a set of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is governed. These rules together make up, i.e. constitute, what the entity is. When these principles are written down into a single document or set of legal documents, those documents may be said to embody a written constitution; if they are written down in a single comprehensive document, it is said to embody a codified constitution.
Constitutions concern different levels of organizations, from sovereign states to companies and unincorporated associations. A treaty which establishes an international organization is also its constitution, in that it would define how that organization is constituted. Within states, a constitution defines the principles upon which the state is based, the procedure in which laws are made and by whom. Some constitutions, especially codified constitutions, also act as limiters of state power, by establishing lines which a state's rulers cannot cross, such as fundamental rights. An example is the constitution of the United States of America.

The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature. No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen. Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the State of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode-Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New-York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five, and Georgia three. When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies. The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote. Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year; and if Vacancies happen by Resignation, or otherwise, during the Recess of the Legislature of any State, the Executive thereof may make temporary Appointments until the next Meeting of the Legislature, which shall then fill such Vacancies. The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present. Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law. -

The highest authority in America (under God) would not be any person at all. The highest authority in our land is a document, the Constitution of the United States. Download at www.thestoryofliberty.net Russ Walton put it right: government is not a producer, it is a taker, and a spender. Every dollar spent by the government is a dollar taken from the private sector, from the workers and investors. Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business. The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church. Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option. Look, it is simply not shown anywhere in the Bible to redistribute wealth. The Bible does not support this idea. The whole essence of Charity is voluntary! No money can be extracted from you by Robin Hood or the state and be considered Charity, because its taken from you, its involuntary. An interesting analogy D James Kennedy used that a Christian life be compared to a hurricane. "In Florida we are familiar with hurricanes. First is that calm still warm center, and second there are the swirling winds that roar around that center. In spiritual life, if were going to be a hurricane we need two elements, the warm calm center, which is our private life with Christ, our faith in Him, devotion and desire to live for him, this is what fuels the power of the hurricane. But there must be something that comes out of that. Christians must be engaged in the cities and towns of America, potent, and able to make good. A vast majority of Evangelical churches in America today have become Pietistic and they have little or no effect upon the culture. Piety is good, devotion to religion, but Pietism is not because it makes the Church impotent. They never engage politics. In other words if that warm calm center (Pietism) went across Florida it would not change much, because there are no powerful winds." So what are we to do? Christ said be salt and light. Salt of the earth,( so you are not good for nothing.) Light of the world and salt of the earth, these are unique and different. Christians have obligations in politics, schools, media, business, families, churches, and yes; motion pictures. Did you know when the motion picture camera was invented it was offered to the Church and they turned it down because see they were Pieties, and could not see any practical use for it. Christ said in Matthew 28:18-20...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. As wonderful as John 3:3 is, "all that I have commanded you means ALL that is taught in the FOUR Gospels, and the entire Bible, including what the Bible says how to influence governments for good. Does political activism do any spiritual good? If it is part of what God teaches us in Scripture, then of course it does spiritual good because it pleases God, and Christ is seeking transformed lives, and then a transformed world. Russ Walton put it right: government is not a producer, it is a taker, and a spender. Every dollar spent by the government is a dollar taken from the private sector, from the workers and investors. Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business.
The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option.
Look, it is simply not shown anywhere in the Bible to redistribute wealth. The Bible does not support this idea. The whole essence of Charity is voluntary! No money can be extracted from you by Robin Hood or the state and be considered Charity, because its taken from you, its involuntary.
An interesting analogy D James Kennedy used that a Christian life be compared to a hurricane. "In Florida we are familiar with hurricanes. First is that calm still warm center, and second there are the swirling winds that roar around that center.
In spiritual life, if were going to be a hurricane we need two elements, the warm calm center, which is our private life with Christ, our faith in Him, devotion and desire to live for him, this is what fuels the power of the hurricane.
But there must be something that comes out of that. Christians must be engaged in the cities and towns of America, potent, and able to make good. A vast majority of Evangelical churches in America today have become Pietistic and they have little or no effect upon the culture. Piety is good, devotion to religion, but Pietism is not because it makes the Church impotent. They never engage politics.
In other words if that warm calm center (Pietism) went across Florida it would not change much, because there are no powerful winds."
So what are we to do? Christ said be salt and light. Salt of the earth,( so you are not good for nothing.) Light of the world and salt of the earth, these are unique and different.
Christians have obligations in politics, schools, media, business, families, churches, and yes; motion pictures. Did you know when the motion picture camera was invented it was offered to the Church and they turned it down because see they were Pieties, and could not see any practical use for it.
Christ said in Matthew 28:18-20...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. As wonderful as John 3:3 is, "all that I have commanded you means ALL that is taught in the FOUR Gospels, and the entire Bible, including what the Bible says how to influence governments for good.
Does political activism do any spiritual good? If it is part of what God teaches us in Scripture, then of course it does spiritual good because it pleases God, and Christ is seeking transformed lives, and then a transformed world.

I started my trip off by hopping off a plane and then immediately hopping onto a bus. But not just any bus, a bus operated by Brewvana Brewery Tours, the mostly women-run craft beer brewery tour company. In this travel video guide to San Francisco, I travel to San Francisco, California, one of the most scenic cities in the United States, if not the world.
In town for a conference for only four days, only one of which was going to be sunny, I headed out to see as much as I could in a day. I started my day by visiting the Haight-Ashbury district, San Francisco's most famous neighborhood. Ground zero for the Summer of Love, this neighborhood's bohemian past is still evident as you walk around the area, though things have changed quite a bit.
Next I headed to the Mission District, San Francisco's "It" neighborhood right now. Home to a large and varied immigrant population, cheap rents have lured many a young and hip individual to the area, evidenced by the artisanal chocolate shops, used book stores and proliferation of coffee shops. There are also great taco shops here. I visit Taqueria Cancun and El Toro to see which I liked best.
Then I hopped on a boat to get a unique view of the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, which we sailed under, then traveled past Alcatraz Island and Angel Island.
Wrapping things up, I walked through the Presidio for a pilgrimage to Lucasfilm, complete with a Yoda fountain, then hiked one of the Presidio's many trails to get a great view as the sun set over the bay.

In this travel video tour of Portland, Oregon, I travel to Portland, one of the most unique cities in the United States.
I started my trip off by hopping off a plane and then immediately hopping onto a bus. But not just any bus, a bus operated by Brewvana Brewery Tours, the mostly women-run craft beer brewery tour company. Portland, or know as Beervana to some, is home to 55 breweries within its borders, and is truly a beer-lover's paradise. On my tour we made stops at Rogue Ales & Spirits, Laurelwood Pubic House & Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewery and Sidecar Bar, where I had the chance to sit down over a pint with the founder and owner of Brewvana, Ashley Rose Salvitti.
While in Portland, I stayed at the Tiny House Hotel, a hotel made up of, you guessed it, tiny houses. In the next portion of my video guide I give a tour of my "crib" to show what it's like to live and stay in a tiny house.
Then, in an effort to get a chance to experience the famed brunch scene in Portland, I stopped in at The Tin Shed Garden Cafe, located down the street from where I was staying in the New Alberta Arts District.
In the interest of learning more about food, I headed to the downtown location of the Portland Farmers Market, located in a beautiful stretch of downtown Portland. Here, I got a tour of the grounds with Mona Johnson, then had the opportunity to meet up with some of the vendors, including Matt Choi of Choi's Kimchi Company, and famed chef and artisanal pickle impresario, David Barber of Picklopolis and Bingo! Sandwiches.
In need of a little peace and serenity, I then visited the Lan Su Chinese Garden, a peaceful and beautiful oasis in an otherwise busy and hectic part of downtown.
When visiting Portland, there's no reason to spend all your time in the city, especially with so much to do outside the city limits. The next day I took a road trip with local Matthew Domingo to explore the Columbia River Gorge and the numerous trails and waterfalls just off the road you can check out.
Then, to wrap things up, we stopped in at Hood River Organic near the riverside town of Hood River, an organic orchard and farm run by East Coast ex-pat Dan Thall, who gave us a tour of his land. Once the day ended we then headed out to happy hour at Solera Brewery in the imposing shadow of Mount Hood and then into town for a dinner featuring mushroom pizza with mushrooms Dan had grown and recently delivered to the restaurant.

The Tom McCall Waterside Park is a good spot for people-watching. Several bridges give access to the east bank, where the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is located.
Portland's climate is ideal for growing roses, showcased in the International Rose Test Garden. The nearby Japanese Garden is one of the most authentic outside of Asia. Washington Park offers lush gardens and trails. Oregon Zoo is a family favorite. Opposite this is the Portland Children's Museum.
Benson Bridge provides the best vantage point for the stunning Multnomah Falls. Viewing points around the National Volcanic Monument show off the active Mount St Helens.

Chelsey, RN, Travel Nurse: My recruiter has been great. I can call her at any time and she's there for me to answer my question, to calm me down if I'm nervous about a new job. It's been excellent.
Kelly, Recruiter: You know, one of the best benefits of travel nursing is being able to have that kind of profession that we can travel the country and see it and experience new places, new people, new hospitals.
Chelsey, RN, American Traveler: I met a lot of my new friends just from day one orientation with the hospital. They have become my tour guides so they take me out on, you know, a little exploratory places. I had sushi for the first time. We don't have sushi in Georgia.
Pat, RN, Travel Nurse: I am a registered nurse and I have been one for 37 years. As a mother of six children, they all just thought, you know, the Baby Boomer hippie had to come out of you, so I'm ready proud of you that you decided to do this and go see parts of the country.

Michelle, Housing Coordinator: And these complexes have um, luxury pools with Jacuzzi, 24-hour fitness centers, 24-hour business centers.

Megan McCormick ventures into the countries on the Arabian Gulf – Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Oman – an area of ancient of kingdoms that’s synonymous with oil but still one of the most misunderstood areas of the entire world.
Megan’s journey begins in the oil fields of Kuwait where she witnesses the devastation caused by the Iraqi invasion of 1990. As the army retreated under the Allied bombardment, Desert Storm, it set alight to dozens of oil fields causing an environmental catastrophe.
Visiting its capital, Kuwait City, she finds that the superficial scars of the war have healed; in the city’s souks traditional Arab life continues. However, a meeting with a Kuwaiti prisoner of war on the festive Liberation Day (26 February) reveals that there are still hundreds of Kuwaitis who have never been released by the Iraqi regime.
Megan visits the Bergen oil field, half an hour south of the city, to view the production of the world’s most important, yet most vexed, commodity. Her gaze turns from the international to the local when she accepts an invite to stay with a Kuwaiti family in a Bedouin camp in the desert. This is a spring tradition that many Kuwaitis hold dear – although nowadays their tents come with all the mod-cons like electricity and bathrooms!
With a half-hour flight across the deserts of Saudi Arabia, Megan finds herself moving rapidly into the future in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. She checks into the world’s only seven star hotel, the Burj Al Arab, which dominates the city’s skyline with its dhow sail-like shape. From here she explores the high-tech excitement Dubai has to offer: the Wild Waddy water park and the Palm Sails project – a palm-shaped man-made island offering premier residential and resort living. For a taste of the traditional among the jet-set ambience of this city she visits one of its 34 malls where she tries on the ‘abayya’ veil worn by Muslim women. Two hours along the coast Megan arrives in Abu Dhabi, the country’s capital and the business centre of the Gulf. She visits Women She Zone mall, the world’s first female-only shopping centre, where women can be themselves in this male-dominated society.
With 95 per cent of UAE desert, the inhabitants have found novel ways of incorporating into their lives. Megan tries her hand at golf in the sand but finds that she’s far better-off driving across it in a 4-wheel drive with Offroad Emirates. The company offers tours around the magnificent dunes of the Liwa Oasis on the edge of the aptly named ‘Empty Quarter’ – just a million square miles of sand.
To find out just how rich this country is, Megan goes to meet the nephew of its president, Sheikh Hamed. This flamboyant sheik’s car collection includes a giant custom-made Dodge pickup truck and probably the world’s biggest motor home; each tyre is three metres high, is made of 1.5 tonnes of rubber and costs $16,000!
She travels across the border into Oman and discovers one of the hidden jewels of the Gulf, a country far more immersed in its heritage than its neighbours. She visits the port city Muscat, home to the most authentic souk in the whole of Arabia. Here she wanders through a living embodiment of traditional Islamic life where you can buy abbayas, silver, gold, spices, flowers and much more.
A trip to the Sultan Kabuz Grand Mosque leaves Megan higher than a flying carpet; this monumental building is made of graceful white marble and houses the largest chandelier and carpet in the world.
Leaving the city behind her, Megan tries her hand at cattle shopping in Nizwa before getting out into Oman’s beautiful natural surroundings. She treks down a mountain called Wadi Bani Khalid in the Hajar mountains, an area that sees water year-round – a precious commodity in this desert country – with a guide from Nomadic Explorer. For a further dose of tradition, Megan travels to Sur on the easternmost point of Arabia to watch the dhow ships being built. The builders don’t use plans, instead they do it all by eye and it works! People come here from all over the Gulf to buy a ship.
Then it’s back for a stop at the luxurious Al-Bustan Palace in Muscat for a night of rest before Megan embarks on the final leg of her journey to the south of the country. She flies to the town of Salah, near the Yemeni border, home to the biblical perfume Frankincense. Megan strikes a great bargain in a perfume souk for the divine incense before going to the only place in the world where trees produce this scent. She meets Musalem, one of the lucky few allowed to harvest this precious commodity that has brought wealth to Oman for centuries.
The next day Megan visits Job’s tomb, a local man whose story is revered by Jews, Christians and Muslims alike, before setting off into the desert for a last night with a Bedouin guide.

Along the US191, there is a deviation, and the road begins to climb with a series of switchbacks up to the Visitor Center.
Arches National Park is a 'protected area of the United States that preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch.
The first viewpoint you meet after the Visitor Center is to Park Avenue. From here you can observe very high red rocks that resemble the skyscrapers of New York, hence the name of Park Avenue.
We move to the next viewpoint, the La Sal Mountain Viewpoint. From here we begin to understand how big the park. Also you can see other rock characteristics conformations
We reach now, one of the most famous attractions of the park, once again it will not be an arc but a curiously shaped rock that seems about to fall off a spike, we are at Balanced Rock.
The total height of Balanced Rock is about 39 meters of which only the rock that rests on the base measures approximately 17 meters. By walking around you can see how the perspective and the effect "fall" changes depending on the angle in which you look.
A few years ago, Balanced Rock had a companion, a lot like rock, but much smaller, unfortunately fell during the winter 1975/1976.
Immediately after the Balanced Rock is the Windows Section where you can see up close the first string.
We head to the North and the South Window and then to Turret Arch.
From the parking lot we see the Double Arch.
From the Fiery Furnace viewpoint we observe this magnificent natural labyrinth between the rocks.
The visit to this site is limited and it takes a ranger as a guide.
As a last stop in Arches National Park we go to the Delicate Arch Viewpoint
Delicate Arch is the symbol of the state of Utah.
We would have preferred to get as close as possible to the arc, instead we observe it from a mile away, seeing him so from a broader perspective and equally spectacular

So, the founding fathers decided try their hand at nation-building, and they created the Constitution of the United States, which you may remember as the one that says We The People at the top. John will tell you how the convention came together, some of the compromises that had to be made to pass this thing, and why it's very lucky that the framers installed a somewhat reasonable process for making changes to the thing. You'll learn about Shays' Rebellion, the Federalist Papers, the elite vs rabble dynamic of the houses of congress, and start to find out just what an anti-federalist is.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Article. I.
Section. 1.
All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
Section. 2.
The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.
No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.
Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the State of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode-Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New-York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five, and Georgia three.
When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies.
The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.
Section. 3.
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.
Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year; and if Vacancies happen by Resignation, or otherwise, during the Recess of the Legislature of any State, the Executive thereof may make temporary Appointments until the next Meeting of the Legislature, which shall then fill such Vacancies.
No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

Russ Walton put it right: government is not a producer, it is a taker, and a spender. Every dollar spent by the government is a dollar taken from the private sector, from the workers and investors. Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business.
The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option.
Look, it is simply not shown anywhere in the Bible to redistribute wealth. The Bible does not support this idea. The whole essence of Charity is voluntary! No money can be extracted from you by Robin Hood or the state and be considered Charity, because its taken from you, its involuntary.
An interesting analogy D James Kennedy used that a Christian life be compared to a hurricane. "In Florida we are familiar with hurricanes. First is that calm still warm center, and second there are the swirling winds that roar around that center.
In spiritual life, if were going to be a hurricane we need two elements, the warm calm center, which is our private life with Christ, our faith in Him, devotion and desire to live for him, this is what fuels the power of the hurricane.
But there must be something that comes out of that. Christians must be engaged in the cities and towns of America, potent, and able to make good. A vast majority of Evangelical churches in America today have become Pietistic and they have little or no effect upon the culture. Piety is good, devotion to religion, but Pietism is not because it makes the Church impotent. They never engage politics.
In other words if that warm calm center (Pietism) went across Florida it would not change much, because there are no powerful winds."
So what are we to do? Christ said be salt and light. Salt of the earth,( so you are not good for nothing.) Light of the world and salt of the earth, these are unique and different.
Christians have obligations in politics, schools, media, business, families, churches, and yes; motion pictures. Did you know when the motion picture camera was invented it was offered to the Church and they turned it down because see they were Pieties, and could not see any practical use for it.
Christ said in Matthew 28:18-20...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. As wonderful as John 3:3 is, "all that I have commanded you means ALL that is taught in the FOUR Gospels, and the entire Bible, including what the Bible says how to influence governments for good.
Does political activism do any spiritual good? If it is part of what God teaches us in Scripture, then of course it does spiritual good because it pleases God, and Christ is seeking transformed lives, and then a transformed world.

Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business.
The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option.

The American Revolution (HIST 116) Professor Freeman discusses the national debate over the proposed Constitution, arguing that in many ways, when Americans debated its ratification, they were debating the consequences and meaning of the Revolution. Some feared that a stronger, more centralized government would trample on the rights and liberties that had been won through warfare, pushing the new nation back into tyranny, monarchy, or aristocracy. Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the State of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode-Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New-York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five, and Georgia three.
When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies.
The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.
Section. 3.
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.
Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year; and if Vacancies happen by Resignation, or otherwise, during the Recess of the Legislature of any State, the Executive thereof may make temporary Appointments until the next Meeting of the Legislature, which shall then fill such Vacancies.
No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

The Senate shall chuse their other Officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the Absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of President of the United States.
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

Russ Walton put it right: government is not a producer, it is a taker, and a spender. Every dollar spent by the government is a dollar taken from the private sector, from the workers and investors. Every dollar taken by the government cannot be spent or invested by that productive private sector business.
The Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 4 does not teach socialism, as some might think. What the early Christian did was voluntary, the property was in their control what to do with their land and money from the sale. We see clearly in this passage that others gave money to the Church, not the State. Because socialism is in itself atheistic, it never teaches to give money to the Church.
Alexis de Tocqueville also said, America will last until the public discovers that it can vote for itself largess (liberal taking) out of the public treasury. We have discovered that with a vengeance. Alexis de Tocqueville said it would bring about the destruction of the great nation. We are facing staggering deficits because millions of Americans are voting for schemes that will transfer wealth to them out of the public treasury, and many states are discussing bankruptcy as an option.
Look, it is simply not shown anywhere in the Bible to redistribute wealth. The Bible does not support this idea. The whole essence of Charity is voluntary! No money can be extracted from you by Robin Hood or the state and be considered Charity, because its taken from you, its involuntary.
An interesting analogy D James Kennedy used that a Christian life be compared to a hurricane. "In Florida we are familiar with hurricanes. First is that calm still warm center, and second there are the swirling winds that roar around that center.
In spiritual life, if were going to be a hurricane we need two elements, the warm calm center, which is our private life with Christ, our faith in Him, devotion and desire to live for him, this is what fuels the power of the hurricane.
But there must be something that comes out of that. Christians must be engaged in the cities and towns of America, potent, and able to make good. A vast majority of Evangelical churches in America today have become Pietistic and they have little or no effect upon the culture. Piety is good, devotion to religion, but Pietism is not because it makes the Church impotent. They never engage politics.
In other words if that warm calm center (Pietism) went across Florida it would not change much, because there are no powerful winds."
So what are we to do? Christ said be salt and light. Salt of the earth,( so you are not good for nothing.) Light of the world and salt of the earth, these are unique and different.
Christians have obligations in politics, schools, media, business, families, churches, and yes; motion pictures. Did you know when the motion picture camera was invented it was offered to the Church and they turned it down because see they were Pieties, and could not see any practical use for it.
Christ said in Matthew 28:18-20...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. As wonderful as John 3:3 is, "all that I have commanded you means ALL that is taught in the FOUR Gospels, and the entire Bible, including what the Bible says how to influence governments for good.
Does political activism do any spiritual good? If it is part of what God teaches us in Scripture, then of course it does spiritual good because it pleases God, and Christ is seeking transformed lives, and then a transformed world.

Professor Freeman discusses the national debate over the proposed Constitution, arguing that in many ways, when Americans debated its ratification, they were debating the consequences and meaning of the Revolution. Some feared that a stronger, more centralized government would trample on the rights and liberties that had been won through warfare, pushing the new nation back into tyranny, monarchy, or aristocracy. The Federalist essays represented one particularly ambitious attempt to quash Anti-Federalist criticism of the Constitution. In the end, the Anti-Federalists did have one significant victory, securing a Bill of Rights to be added after the new Constitution had been ratified by the states.
