KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Swedish: Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, abbreviated KTH) is a university in Stockholm, Sweden. KTH was founded in 1827 as Sweden's first polytechnic and is one of Scandinavia's largest (the largest by certain definitions) institutions of higher education in technology. KTH accounts for one-third of Sweden's technical research and engineering education capacity at university level. KTH offers programmes leading to a Master of Architecture, Master of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, licentiate or doctoral degree. The university also offers a technical preparatory programme for non-scientists and further education.
There are a total of just over 14 000 full-year equivalent undergraduate students, more than 1700 active postgraduate students and 4600 full-time-equivalent employees. KTH is one of the leading technical universities in Europe and highly respected worldwide, especially in the domains of technology and natural sciences.
A master's degree, or masters degree in British English (from Latin magister), is an academic degree awarded by universities upon completion of a course of study demonstrating a mastery or high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional practice. Within the area studied, graduates are posited to possess advanced knowledge of a specialized body of theoretical and applied topics; high order skills in analysis, critical evaluation, or professional application; and the ability to solve complex problems and think rigorously and independently. The master's degree may qualify the holder to teach at a college or university in certain disciplines.
The two most common titles of master's degrees are the Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Science (M.S., M.Sc., M.Si., or M.C.A.) degrees; these may be course-based, research-based, or a mixture of the two. Some universities use the Latin degree names; because of the flexibility of syntax in Latin, the Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees may be known as Magister artium or Artium magister and Magister scientiæ or Scientiæ magister, respectively. Harvard University, University of Chicago, and MIT, for example, use A.M. and S.M. for their master's degrees. More commonly, Master of Science often is abbreviated MS or M.S. in the United States, and MSc or M.Sc. in Commonwealth nations and Europe.

Hello again everyone! One of the most asked question that I receive these days is : How to live in and how to find good living flats in Stockholm? I decided to do a special edition composed of two episodes to show you the most wanted student housings for the KTH students. This week I will show you my student’s building located in the KTH campus, yes, INSIDE the KTH Campus: DKV! And yes, this means you can wake up at the last minute to go to classes (this is a message for the lazy future KTH students 😉). I’ll let you discover the place yourself, rooms, kitchen, laundry room, etc…I hope you will want to live in a place like mine after this video, because trust me, it’s really peaceful and close to the center of Stockholm too! See you next week and hej då!
In this Friday Evening Discourse at the Royal Institution, Professor Jim Al-Khalili explores how the mysteries of quantum theory might be observable at the biological level. Although many examples can be found in the scientific literature dating back half a century, there is still no widespread acceptance that quantum mechanics -- that baffling yet powerful theory of the subatomic world -- might play an important role in biological processes. Biology is, at its most basic, chemistry, and chemistry is built on the rules of quantum mechanics in the way atoms and molecules behave and fit together. As Jim explains, biologists have until recently been dismissive of counter-intuitive aspects of the theory and feel it to be unnecessary, preferring their traditional ball-and-stick models of th...
Andy takes a closer look at one of his favourite demos from the 2012 Christmas Lectures, bringing together a levitating superconductor and a bewildering Möbius strip made from over 2,000 magnets. Answer our survey about our videos and win £100: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/QCVL88N We'd love it if you helped us translate this video: http://www.youtube.com/timedtext_video?v=zPqEEZa2Gis As his super-conducting boat whizzes along the track, Andy demonstrates the remarkable properties of the superconducting material (Yttrium barium copper oxide) which allows it to seemingly float both above and below the track. This movie is from an archive of VHS recordings from an experimental installation between Royal Institute of Technology and Sergel Torg, both places in Stockholm. By using a video loop, participants could interact with each other and do things like dancing and playing music. The delay was down to 4 ms over fibre optic cables. Knudsen has published the results in a paper called: "Synchronous Virtual Spaces - transparent technology for producing a sense of presence at a distance", Knudsen, 2001. The two musicans playing is me and my good friend Dr. Alex Jonsson (saxophone)
(English below) Seminario tenuto al KTH Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm, il 9 Agosto, 2013 Titolo: Il lavoro di essere felici Relatore: Francesco Grandis, nomad worker (lavoratore nomade) Contenuti: Abbiamo guide complete per quasi tutto. Abbiamo regole morali, abbiamo leggi, abbiamo molte scelte educative.

Will you try to justify the meaning, of the note you sent
this evening, to my door your not deceiving me
I'd of thought that you'd have known me better, sending
round an unsigned letter, facing you would be much better
now.
Is it just that you can't face the future with me, can't
you tell me to my face
You just took the cowards way to say good-bye, how would
you feel here in my place?
If at last I think I'm glad, to rid myself of you I'm
sad, to think about the time I let you go
Then I turn and walk away, so please don't beg for me to
stay, cause I know just what I
will say to you
Is it just that you can't face the future with me, can't
you tell me to my face
You just took the cowards way to say good-bye, how would
you feel here in my place?
Tell me to my face your leaving now
