The close-up is probably the most important and most common shot in video and film. It's extremely common and it's certainly one of the fundamental camera angles to practice.
In this video, I demonstrate several different types of close-up shots. I tell you what they're called, how you can identify them, and when you might use them.

Knifemaking Tuesdays Week 33 - Closeup shots and Fitting things
This week for Knifemaking Tuesdays Erik and I are finishing up the last little tweaks for our Norseman's and getting them to fit and work perfectly. There are lots of close up shots of the two prototypes for those of you who have been wanting to see them. We assembled and disassembled it many times while fitting things, so you can see how it all goes together. On the Tormach we machined the internal stop pin groove, the bearing races, and pre-reamed then reamed the pivot hole. Also you get to see how my pocket clips turned out, how they look in color and on the knife, as well as what they look like sticking out of my pocket. By the end of the video we figured out the formula of measurements to get the knife to flip out REALLY fast while being buttery smooth. Thanks for watching! B...

Close Up Take Offs at Manchester Airport, MAN | 07-02-17
It has been a long long while since I last visited Manchester, to be exact August 2016. So a visit was well and truly needed, in which a lot has changed since my last visit. To be exact, the changes in Singapore's operations, of which are now being operated by A350's. It was nice to get some early morning winter lighting. We had also arrived just after a downpour of rain, which made for a nice wet runway, but also a boggy southside spotting area, making it quite challenging to film at times. This video was shot between 07:15 and 10:20 in the morning of the 7th February. This week for Knifemaking Tuesdays Erik and I are finishing up the last little tweaks for our Norseman's and getting them to fit and work perfectly. There are lots of close up shots of the two prototypes for those of you who have been wanting to see them. We assembled and disassembled it many times while fitting things, so you can see how it all goes together. On the Tormach we machined the internal stop pin groove, the bearing races, and pre-reamed then reamed the pivot hole. Also you get to see how my pocket clips turned out, how they look in color and on the knife, as well as what they look like sticking out of my pocket. By the end of the video we figured out the formula of measurements to get the knife to flip out REALLY fast while being buttery smooth.

It has been a long long while since I last visited Manchester, to be exact August 2016. So a visit was well and truly needed, in which a lot has changed since my last visit. To be exact, the changes in Singapore's operations, of which are now being operated by A350's.
It was nice to get some early morning winter lighting. We had also arrived just after a downpour of rain, which made for a nice wet runway, but also a boggy southside spotting area, making it quite challenging to film at times. This video was shot between 07:15 and 10:20 in the morning of the 7th February. After 10:20, we left to visit the Visitor park prior to single runway operations commencing, so stay tuned for the latter video
This video includes RW23L Departures, and a few landings on RW23R in the distance.
