A Happy Easter

February 28, 2013March 19, 2013 Gunnvor Karita14 Comments

Of course there are cherubs for Easter! Not as many as for Valentine's Day, and there are a few more serene ones. The Easter cherubs are not quite as whimsical as the Valentine ones. Today I have scanned a couple of cards with cute and playful cherubs, don't you agree they are absolute darlings? I… Continue reading A Happy Easter

Another cherub today, I think he fits well with the 2 cards I posted yesterday 🙂 This one has a missing corner, unfortunately, but I'm sure the resourceful crafters out there can fix it... Feel free to use this image for your personal art and enjoyment! Love & Light Gunnvor Karita

I am decorating a large can (I got a couple from a local restaurant today) and I wanted to use my fave cherub, posted HERE, with a couple of other cards to match, so these are the ones I picked 🙂 I know the letter cards are definitely Ellen Clapsaddle, and I believe so are… Continue reading A Gift Of Love 1908

Raphael Tuck & Sons sure have published some amazing cherub postcards! I use their site to check on what cards are missing from my sets, and estimated prizes. Todays post features a card from a set called "Little Lovers", published in 1912: Check out the Tuck DB site, if you are looking for cards published… Continue reading Little Lovers 1912

I am truly blessed with so many wonderful girls in my life! Just the other day my doorbell rang, and outside stood a surprise visit. My ex-steph daughter (now 21), we have agreed to call her my bonus-daughter 😀 So in addition to my two little ones, I also have her, all grown and gorgeous.… Continue reading Three Lovely Ladies 1911

Affectionate Greeting 1908

Look at this gorgeous vintage postcard, of the cutest cherub dressed in pink, presenting a cornucopia with hearts! This card is especially dear to me, and the original is sitting in a frame on a small table in my living room. I treasure it dearly, as it reminds me of all things great, and I… Continue reading Affectionate Greeting 1908

Homemade :: Basic Paint and Glue

February 18, 2013February 26, 2013 Gunnvor Karita1 Comment

When using all sorts of printed ephemera for craft projects, I always run into the need for vast amounts of basic paint and glue. And being a single mom, I'm always on a tight budget. So I have tested some of the homemade recipes available, and compiled my faves in a printable pdf.  Click on… Continue reading Homemade :: Basic Paint and Glue

Boy And Girl Cherubs

February 16, 2013June 11, 2013 Gunnvor Karita5 Comments

I hope to be able to use this blog to share some of my vintage postcards, for you to use in your artwork. I am completely smitten with the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and my collection is dedicated to ephemera from that period. My main theme is cupids and cherubs, so there is a lot… Continue reading Boy And Girl Cherubs

About Me

My name is Gunnvor Karita and I live in Volda, Norway. At age 46 I still enjoy fairytales and magic. I'm the single mom of two gorgeous girls age 12 and 13, a creative crafter, a deltiologist with a whimsical fancy for cherubs and roses, and in the spare time I try to fit a job at the University College. It is safe to say that our home (for the most part) is a very creative chaos, just the way we love it :-)

Most of the scans on this blog are 600 dpi. High quality printable collage sheets and my diy-projects (mainly pdf files) are found on Google Drive, following the links provided in the posts. Recently pdf-files on Google Drive show a very bleak and sorry preview, but don't worry, if you download or print the file, it will look just as it does on the previews here :-)

The files found on Wings of Whimsy are FREE FOR PERSONAL USE if not otherwise stated. If you would like to use the files elsewise, please contact me with your request.
