From the East Side
Take the downtown 4, 5 or 6 train to Union Square and transfer to the L train towards 8th Avenue. Exit the L train at 8th Avenue. Leave the station and proceed west along 14th Street towards 9th Avenue. Turn left on 9th Avenue then make a right onto Gansevoort Street. Walk two blocks and the Museum will be on your right.

From the West Side
Take the downtown A or C train to 8th Avenue/14th Street. Exit station and proceed west towards 9th Avenue. Turn left on 9th Avenue then make a right onto Gansevoort Street.

OR: take the downtown 1, 2, or 3 train to 14th Street.  Exit the station and walk west to 9th Avenue. Turn left on 9th Avenue, then turn right onto Gansevoort Street and the Museum will be on your right.

From Midtown
Take the downtown E train to 8th Avenue/14th Street. Exit station and proceed west towards 9th Avenue. Turn left on 9th Avenue then make a right onto Gansevoort Street.

From Brooklyn
Take the C train to 8th Ave/ 14th Street.  Exit station and proceed west towards 9th Avenue. Turn left on 9th Avenue then make a right onto Gansevoort Street.

OR: take the L train towards 8th Avenue. Exit the train at 8th Avenue. Leave the station and proceed west along 14th Street towards 9th Avenue. Turn left on 9th Avenue then make a right onto Gansevoort Street. Walk two blocks and the Museum will be on your right.

From the East Side
Take the M15 or M1 downtown. Transfer to the M14A at 14th Street. Exit at Hudson Street/Horatio Street and walk north one block to Gansevoort Street.  Head west on Gansevoort Street; the Museum will be on your right.

From the West Side
Take the M11 bus below Riverbank 145 Street via 10th Avenue or the M7 bus along Columbus Avenue downtown. Exit either bus at 14th Street and walk west to Washington Street. Turn left on Washington and take a right onto Gansevoort Street.

From Midtown
Take the M12 below Columbus Circle. Exit at W 14 Street/Washington Street and walk south along Washington Street to Gansevoort Street. Turn right and continue west on Gansevoort Street; the Museum will be on your right.

Parking
Street parking near the Whitney is limited. Apple Parking, located at 332 West 11th Street, offers a $10 discount for Museum visitors that park over one hour and can show their admission ticket to garage attendants. This offer cannot be used for overnight parking, or combined with any other promotions including the early bird special.

There are also three ICON parking facilities nearby: 99 Jane Street, 134–36 Jane Street, and 385 W 15th Street. 

Directions from the Bronx, Queens and Long Island
Take the Robert F. Kennedy Triborough Bridge to the southbound FDR Drive. Take exit 7 toward E 23 Street. Turn right onto E 25th Street, turn left onto 2nd Ave, turn right onto E 14th St, and turn left onto Washington St. Proceed south and turn right on Gansevoort Street.

OR: Take I-495 W to the Queens Midtown Tunnel follow to E 35th Street. Turn left on E 35th Street, turn right onto 2nd Ave, turn right onto E 14th St, and turn left onto Washington St. Proceed south and turn right onto Gansevoort Street.

From Brooklyn and Staten Island
Take Manhattan Bridge from Brooklyn. Make a slight left onto Canal Street, turn right onto West Street, and continue onto 11th Avenue. Turn right onto E 14th St, and turn left onto Washington St. Proceed south and turn right onto Gansevoort Street.

OR: Take the Williamsburg Bridge from Brooklyn onto Delancey Street. Proceed down Delancey Street and turn right onto Chrystie Street, turn left onto E Houston Street, turn right onto Hudson Street.  Turn left onto W 11th Street, turn right Greenwich Street and proceed to Gansevoort Street.

OR: Take the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. Take the Park Row S exit on the left. Keep right to continue on Barclay Street, turn right onto West Street.  Continue onto 11th Avenue. Make a right onto W 14th Street.  Turn right onto Washington Street and proceed south to turn right onto Gansevoort Street.

From Northern New Jersey
Take the George Washington Bridge to the West Side Highway (NY-9A)/Henry Hudson Pkwy going south. Turn left onto W 14th Street. Turn right onto Washington Street and proceed south and turn right onto Gansevoort Street.

From Southern New Jersey
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to the Holland Tunnel towards Manhattan. Take exit 2 for Hudson Street toward uptown. Turn right onto Hudson Street. Continue on Hudson Street and turn left onto W 11th Street. Make a right onto Greenwich Street and turn left onto Gansevoort Street.

From Westchester and Connecticut
Take Saw Mill Pkwy South/New York City to New York 9A S/Henry Hudson Pkwy. Turn Left onto W 14th Street. Turn right onto Washington Street and proceed south to Gansevoort Street.
