Ughhh.  I’ve had the biggest problems with my WiFi this week.  Which has caused me to not be able to post really much of anything on this site.  I could view stuff via my phone and did my best to at least view a few posts here and there.  But I feel bad I wasn’t able to watch any things movies or shorts I said that I would.  Mainly because I don’t like watching movies on my phone unless I have seen it before.  TV shows are fine, but for me it feels weird watching a movie on a screen smaller than my laptop.  So since, the net wasn’t working I bought a whole slew of flicks over at the pawn store.  I also did see one new film in the theater, which may be my last time going to see ones when they are brand new,  This is part one of a two post section mainly because I don’t have a lot of time to really write on every movie I saw.  But  lets get to the ones  I have seen Continue reading →

Plan 9 From Outer Space: Audio Drama

Posted on January 23, 2017 by

Hello everyone.

plan_9_alternative_poster

It’s been a while since I last posted anything on this site  and I do apologize to those filmmakers and actors whose features and shorts, I said I would review.  I promise I will get to them either this week or next.

I was a recent guest on The Lair of The Unwanted along with other great people, and we did our interpretation of Ed Wood’s Plan Nine From Outer Space.  After we recorded the dialogue. I took the audio, and added in music and sound effects to the show.   It took several days to finish, but I’m really happy with the result.

You can listen to the show below( and you can find it on ITunes as well ) Continue reading →

The year 2016 has brought in a slew of movies that were either total shit or really blasting awesome.  But what about the ones that were mainly O.K.  Do they not have a voice, why are they the ones in limbo.  Am I just a chicken shit for not sticking to my guns and placing them in one category or another.  Well, maybe, umm, no, but, yeah, hmm.  I don’t hate these movies, but I don’t fully love them either.  Every film on this list are ones I would watch again but I wouldn’t buy them on Blu-Ray brand new.   Well in any case at least you get an extra couple of lists when I do post my best and worst of 2016.  So let’s get cracking Continue reading →

The Vern’s YouTube Channel or How I Learned to Love the Vlog

Hello Everyone.

vern-on-couch

Way back in 2014 I started posting video reviews because  I thought just reading my words wasn’t enough for my dear sexy followers.   It was a lot of fun making these, but I haven’t made any in a while due to lack of activity on there.  That and my camera isn’t working too well either   So my question for those that still read this is would you prefer written posts or video ones.  Also do you want more where I talk live on camera or do you prefer to just hear my voice. Now to be fair, the ones I made are not as professional as others you’ve seen. They are mostly just a photo slide show with my voice underneath, but there are a few that feature me on camera for the full thing.

Now let’s check out some of the videos I made Continue reading →

White male caucasian young adult on bed with head on pillow with eyes wide open staring off into space at the camera. Afraid of the dark.

As I write up this latest draft, I am now in the last year of my 30’s.  Today  I am 39, and I  feel pretty damn good about it.  I’m still doing the things I love, and am still pretty active.  I guess it hasn’t hit just yet.  I don’t feel old because I don’t understand what my niece is listening to because I never was much into pop music anyways.

Although I feel bad about my lack of writing new articles and reviews.  I feel most bad for not visiting the many great sites that took time out of their day to read mine.  So for this post I’m going to give you my thoughts and  links to reviews that others have wrote.  Not for all but for some Continue reading →

Introducing ScreenTrax Podcast.

Posted on December 3, 2016 by

Hello Everyone.

soundtracks

As if I wasn’t busy enough, I go and start up a brand new podcast .  This one is called ScreenTrax and unlike other shows I do.  This one is locally made in my town of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.  On each episode I join my bandmate of Victory Riot Jordan in reviewing a great movie and than discussing the great soundtrack that went with that movie.  So far only one episode has posted, but I’m currently at work editing the next one and it should be up next week.
