Without recognizing an inherent harm in religion, inauspiciously, in the US, many secular–averse politicians seem to believe that "fate" depends on publicly acknowledging personal faith along with a collective inclusion fantasy. https://www.ipsos.com/en-au/ipsos-global-study-shows-half-think-religion-does-more-harm-good … https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default/files/ct/news/documents/2017-10/GlobalAdvisor_Religion.pdf …

Can't blame Religion for the success of evil & greed
-
I agree with you, I believe it's not religion which is good or bad, it's the people who make a religion good or bad

Religion does more good than harm , it gives a purpose in this life and hope to people . Human-been can't teach him self morals and ethics . Religion is what decide good and bad ,do these people know what is the good and the bad ?? Or they just learned from religious backgrounds

Even as an atheist I acknowledge this is not good. Also interesting to define "religion". Many have now replaced "God" with "the State". One requires values - the other does not.
-
Why would this not be good? I agree there is room for improvement. It seems 32℅ of Belgians, and 37% of Germans, Spanish etc don't know much about history. We could have had a Mars colony and a cure for cancer by the 10th century if we hadn't had religion.
-
Without religion (Flawed yes) providing some type of structure tribes would have torn themselves apart as humanity was growing. Homo Sapiens don't start walking on 2 legs and then decide to visit another planet. Values/ principles and understanding life all took time.
-
You, an atheist, have values, principles and enough understanding of life to not tear us apart while humanity grows. So no religion needed there. Your argument explains (inconclusively) religion may have been useful in the past but today is the present and tomorrow is the future.
-
We are already seeing the effects of what happens when we forget the lessons passed down thousands of years via religion.
