Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States. They will be removed as fast as they come in. Mexico, using their strong immigration laws, is doing a very good job of stopping people.......

8 U.S. Code § 1158: "Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States, irrespective of such alien's status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this section." Seeking asylum is legal. This order violates US law by denying asylum.
This initial section also notes that arrival in the United States does not have to be at a designated port of arrival, such as a border crossing or a sea port, in order for the individual to be eligible to apply for asylum.
This law includes 2 exceptions - the alien must file for asylum within 1 year, and deportation is acceptable if the alien can be deported to a "safe third country." The US Code then notes that these exceptions do not apply to unaccompanied kids. Many at the border are children.
Replies have dissolved into a lot of arguing. I'd like to note that I'm just relaying what the US Code says, and my own opinions are far more progressive. No person is illegal, borders should be open, ICE should be prosecuted. Go cry about it in a safe space if you disagree.
Don’t forget to give them a green card, work permit, driver license and food stamps. Might as well just give them everything, free education, health care , you name it.
You are correct - we SHOULD give them access to all of that. The same way it was given to you for being lucky enough to be born here!
It’s not free. People pay taxes. It is the hard earned money of the citizens being spent on people who have not contributed to society
Who, if any are getting that kind of help? They’ve deported working people who were paying taxes. And what have they done with our taxes? They gave it to the rich and rich corporations who have NOT hired more people . This is just ethnic cleansing.

Mass roundups tend to end badly for rights and freedoms of large swaths of population that are not the stated target at the start of the mass roundup.
I am not afraid. I am more afraid of all the people flooding in with diseases and other issues we do not need. Is already happening in some places.
