I guess this is why AV industry is a many billions industry. It’s just an insurance industry, not really a disruptive industry that breaks with the past and really introduces innovative change that makes a difference.

One can always argue that a product can’t disrupt a business because cash flow is king. That’s 100% correct. What needs to be disrupted are the Infosec practices, which most of the time clash with the business practices, and there lies the big problem.

Hardcore anti-tampering mechanisms? They will hate that if it means more work to system administrators, etc. Most will not care at all about the threat model. It breaks their way of doing things so it’s bad.

I absolutely underestimated this. And this is one of the huge and key problems Infosec because business as usual is where most problems come from. But it’s insanely hard to impose that change from the outside, especially a security product.

The most important thing I learnt building a security product from scratch is that your customers are just looking for something that gives them some assurance and let’s them keep doing what they did with minimal disruption. And that’s all wrong!

If your signing bonus is a GT3 Touring, manual, let’s talk! If not I am already lined up :P

"Shoe Dog" is a fabulous book. Already half way, it's the kind of book where you are all the time "just another chapter". Great story!

How about not giving a fuck about security conferences and instead write longer technical blogposts and/or papers? That would kill most of the diversity issues :P

Why the fuck would I want devices at home listening all the time so I could save some seconds on a task? Can't understand the future!

One must appreciate the beauty of how people were slowly convinced to convert themselves into a state of permanent personal surveillance ;-)
