    Turns out there are a lot of alternatives to the Baby Motzart series! Baby Steve Reich is my favourite so far, but I could see Baby Melvins nurturing interesting children.

    Excellent thread

    That's actually really controversial. Pasture-raised animals release more methane than grainfed, so if you just look at emissions, grainfed is way better. But if you look at C sequestration of pasture vs C release on cropland... oh wait we don't really have a lot on that.

    One underrated part of writing unit tests is that it's yet another way for your laziness to help you write better code. If something is irritating to test, it can probably be organized more clearly.

    Another non-coding thing I encourage my reports to do is checkpointing: write down context of what they are working on at least at end of the work day so they can revisit first thing next morning. This keeps their working memory free from work *task* details until needed again.

    I'm urging teammates to take 15-20 mins every day to update, tweak, fix, improve their general devenv which might include: - editor/VCS config - apps/tools - declutter workareas - improve lighting, noise conditions - small things to improve their physical or virtual environment.

    has passed! Florida has voted to restore voting rights to nearly 1,5 million people. This really is SO huge. FL will no longer permanently disenfranchise all ppl with felony convictions. 10% of FLians are now disenfranchised, & more than 20% of state's black adults.
