    Dudes, please read this thread by a good dude. please let the woman in your story know that she's not alone, and many of us would just listen if she needs to talk. Some form of this has happened to us or someone we know. Thanks Jake for addressing your fellow men.

    Men (particularly in infosec, but elsewhere too), time for some real talk. If we want to solve the gender gap, we have to change how we act on and off work hours, especially at infosec events. I was talking to a woman last night who relayed something that happened recently. 1/n

    For anyone who doubted me last week, please note that AMD has roughly confirmed our analysis and is now working on patches.

    AMD published an initial technical assessment of the flaws from CTS and, by all indications, it agrees with our own. They even linked to our blog post!

    By far, the best Adrian Lamo obit I've read was from Lots of rich details, including a 2004 e-mail Lamo sent with a .mil address attaching a stolen NYT source list. Was that a probation violation?

    Yet another report on the from a security researcher who is widely respected for his expertise and independence. His conclusion: despite the questionable ethics and motives of the advisory, it reports real threats.

    On the — I have seen the technical details and there are legit design & implementation issues worth discussing as part of a coordinated disclosure effort. The media storm and handling around that is sadly distracting from a real conversation around security boundaries.

    Yes, the motives and disclosure of this report are suspicious. But the underlying finding-that AMD's Secure Processor allows unsigned firmware to pass validation checks-is a serious flaw that gives malware new abilities. Hence the decision to run this story with this headline.
