  1. We’re removing Quality Filter from search settings because people told us the filter was confusing and they didn't want it. We’ve been improving search over time so Top shows you the best Tweets without the extra setting and Latest shows you more Tweets.

  2. We're back up and running on Android! (And please make sure to update your app.) Thanks for your patience.

  3. We're fixing the issue where you see so many "This Tweet is unavailable" notices in conversations. This is usually due to deleted or protected Tweets, or muted keywords. In a few weeks, you'll start seeing more context on each notice to help explain why Tweets are unavailable.

  4. Update: we're turning off the experiment on Android to fix some crash issues we've run into. We'll let you know as soon as it's back on!

  5. We’re testing a feature to hide replies from conversations. This experience will be available for everyone around the world, but at this time, only people in Canada can hide replies to their Tweets. We want to know what you think. Please Tweet us your feedback and questions!

  7. Deep in a thread? Tweets are better when they’re bigger, so we’re testing a way for you to expand replies within the conversation on twttr.

  8. Twitter is back up for some people, and we're working to make sure our service is available to everyone as quickly as possible. The interruption was due to an internal system change, which we're now fixing. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and should be at 100% soon.

You asked for more control over your conversations, so starting next week we’re testing a new feature in Canada that will let you hide replies to your Tweets. For transparency, viewers everywhere can see hidden replies by going to a new icon or the dropdown menu.

Ready for more customization? Now you can pick which lists will appear and pin them. Just don’t let your lists know you’re playing favorites. 🤫

This shows an update to customizable timelines, which allows you to pick which lists will appear and pin them.

Today we’re announcing an expansion to this policy which will address dehumanizing language towards religious groups. This is just the first step. Over time we'll expand the policy to include more groups and update you along the way. Learn more:

Sometimes, we decide that it may be in the public’s interest for certain Tweets to remain on Twitter, even if they would otherwise break our rules. We're going to start using a new notice to make it clear when we make these decisions. Read more:

  15. We're raising the bar on how you search! When you search for accounts, we'll show you a little more info, like if they have recent Tweets and how they connect to your broader network. We're rolling this out on iOS, Android, and over the next few days.

    Undo
  16. We're running this experiment to get your feedback! You've told us you want a more customizable timeline, so we're testing having lists you’ve created or subscribe to available in your Home tab. If you like it, we'll add more controls before launching this feature to everyone.

  17. To clarify, we haven't changed general location tagging. You'll still be able to add a location to all Tweets (like a city or a restaurant). It's the precise location feature that's been removed from Tweets.

  18. Most people don't tag their precise location in Tweets, so we're removing this ability to simplify your Tweeting experience. You'll still be able to tag your precise location in Tweets through our updated camera. It's helpful when sharing on-the-ground moments.
