There’s been a fatwa on Salman Rushdie from Khomeini since 1989 and the Islamic Republic of Iran never backed off the fatwa .

On the day #SalmanRushdie was attacked by Hadi Matar, a man with photos of the Islamic Republic of Iran's supreme leader all over his Facebook page, the man who had come to assassinate Iranian dissident was also indicted in NY.

Today the man with a loaded AK47 who got arrested in front of my home in New York, has been indicted on a weapons count.
The authority moved me to a safe house.
But to be honest the word “safe” is too luxury for those of us who speak up against Islamists.

As news of #SalmanRushdie being stabbed in New York spreads, it’s worth reminding ourselves that Ayatollah Khamenei, supreme leader of the Islamic Republic in #Iran, reiterated the fatwa calling for Rushdie’s death in Feb 2019 👇

This is me Before Corona when I showed off my dance moves in New York City. If I was dancing in the streets of Iran with the same dress I’d be arrested. Islamic Republic agents thought they could kidnap me to Iran to be punished. A regime that’s afraid of people dancing.

Huge: After 7 months of protests by students and faculty over state's appointment of pro-gov rector to Bogazici University, Erdogan has removed Melih Bulu from his position. A rare moment where protests produced results. Will the university now be able to appoint its own rector?

I am grateful to FBI for foiling the Islamic Republic of Iran's Intelligence Ministry's plot to kidnap me. This plot was orchestrated under Rouhani.
This is the regime that kidnapped & executed Ruhollah Zam. They've also kidnapped and jailed Jamshid Sharmahd and many others

#ArmenianGenocide recognition by POTUS has been unanimously rejected by Turkish political class from far right to far left with the exception of the pro-Kurdish HDP. That includes the presidential hopefuls Imamoglu and Yavas, respectively the mayors of Istanbul and Ankara.

While some individuals doubtless adopt pro-Armenian positions only because they dislike Turkey, I am proud of the absolute majority of Kurds I have seen commemorate yearly the genocide and recognise how Kurds were participants in the killings and aftermath.

. Conventional wisdom suggests the more Israel's relations with Ankara and Erdogan deteriorate, the more likely it is that Israel's parliament will recognize the Armenian genocide.
There's just one problem: It's not true

My new piece in : Erdogan's landmark 2014 statement, calling the Armenian tragedy 'our shared pain,' was actually a sophisticated form of denial. Ironically, he had effectively normalized the process of Armenian genocide recognition.
