    Today, my friends, I discovered this gem. It was on a site that had one of those magical accessibility overlay products on it that is supposed to fix everything. Instead, it is a perfect example of why those overlay products are snake oil. Let's see if anyone can see why...

    Screenshot of phone number input. It has my phone number in it: 443-875-7343. Error message beneath says "Please enter a valid number". But the real problem is that the developer has used input type of number, which is clearly not appropriate for a telephone number.

    This isn't about W3C or CSS specifically. As an industry we seem remarkably reluctant to drink our own champagne. You wouldn't launch an app without testing it with users. But you'd spin up an API without considering how developers actually want to use it.
