International Women's Day: Empowering rural women to achieve food and nutrition security4 MARCH 2015 - This year, the international community is commemorating the 20th anniversary of the landmark Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing in September 1995. International Women's Day 2015, observed on 8 March, is therefore a special occasion to celebrate achievements made since Beijing and to take action on meeting the remaining challenges to women's empowerment and gender equality.
International Women's Day: Picture it!The theme of International Women's Day 2015 is 'Empower women, empower humanity: Picture it!' To celebrate that theme a call went out to IFAD projects asking them to submit photos from their work on women's empowerment in their countries. We received 114 photos from 22 countries.
