• Earn free Uber rides when you refer a friend and they sign up for the service. Your friend will also earn a free ride from your referral.
• Watch out for Uber Surge charges. If you’re being picked up in a high-demand area, your fare may be charged by a multiplier of some sort. You’ll be made aware of this when you request a car and can choose to accept or not accept the rate. If you choose not to accept the rate, you can click on the option to be notified when Surge charges have ended for your location.

Uber Tipping

Since tips cannot be added via the Uber app, riders are free to tip their drivers in cash. While Uber officially states that tips are not required, recent changes in policy mean that drivers are free to solicit tips, often through signage in their car. This means that while tipping may not be necessary, it’s possible that not tipping your Uber driver may result in the driver giving you a bad rating.
