George Burns (January 20, 1896– March 9, 1996), born Nathan Birnbaum, was an American comedian, actor, and writer.
He was well known for his comedy routines with his wife, Gracie Allen, involving her tall tales about her relatives. The Burns & Allen Show was broadcast on radio from 1942 to 1950[1] and on television from 1950 to 1958.[2]
