Andrew Mark Cuomo (born December 6, 1957) is the 56th and current Governor of New York State. He was 64th New York State Attorney General and the 11th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under Bill Clinton. He was born in Queens. His father Mario Cuomo was also Governor of New York and Andrew worked for him. Cuomo was able to make same-sex marriage legal in New York, made a law that was tough on guns, and proposed a law that would allow businesses not to pay taxes for some time in some parts of the state. He also said he would not end the moratorium (delay) on hydrofracking, a special process that extracts (takes out) oil and natural gas so that they can be used for fuel and other things. He was reelected governor in 2014.
