I was just watching some Arrested Development and in between episodes an ad for the Witcher started to play with a "Watch Now" button displayed. My question is, what the hell is this horseshit?
Watched the entire season yesterday.
The first episodes are strong and unravel at a fast pace in several languages (love that) and an oppressive (great) score.
I felt there was way too much smoking and cursing and that to be unnecessary. It reflects badly on the writers and their attempt to make the intelligence players appear raw. Instead they appeared as childish and stupid (weak) as a result. Thankfully, there is less of that in the second half of the season than the first.
Loved that Payam had those defiant eyes/ gaze and that silence about him in the face of danger. It made him look more like the devil than a messenger. Great casting choice, had never heard of that actor but he is capable of carrying this show.
The parallel stories and flash backs are great ideas and they help the viewing experience tremendously.
If you liked actor Tomer Sisley (Aviram), I highly recommend the Largo Winch movies which were based on a Belgian comic book series.
As some of you may know Lauren Hissrich has been active on this sub in the last couple of days and has offered us the chance to do an official AmA with us.
She contacted us and the date stands as Monday, 01/06/20. We'll begin around 10:30 PM GMT / 2:30 PM PT.
We'll be updating this thread with all the info we can get, so be sure to check in here from time to time.
Lauren's reddit name is u/l_schmidt_hissrich if you want to check out what she has been commenting on.
Edit 1: Comment from Lauren herself:
"Hi everyone. Ahead of Monday, I wanted everyone to know my thoughts on how this AMA will run most smoothly.
THE BASICS: I will set up the thread as soon as I log on. I will be chatting with you from the comfort of an airport lounge. If for some reason I am running late (security, wifi issues, etc), I will post and let you know. The AMA will last an hour, after which I'll be getting on a plane and heading into S2.
Everyone here has been really respectful and civil since I started posting, so I don't expect any issues there. Thanks for that.
I will answer questions in the order in which they arrive. I will start with the first question and move through from oldest to newest. I will not skip questions (lest I be accused of "cherry-picking" easy ones, ahem). I will not go backwards and re-address secondary comments on my answers unless I run out of new questions, at which point I'll go back to the beginning and once again move through in order.
If there are repeats of questions, I will direct the poster to the earlier response.
What did you guys think about Virgin River?
Did you like it? It has potential for several seasons?
The source material consist of 20 books, so, they have A LOT of material to keep going.
Also the feedback has been pretty amazing, even with the zero promotion Netflix gave it.
When I go into "my list" and uncheck a serie (because I want to clean up the list) it jumps always to the beginning.
Since it's a long list that's a hassel to go back to the end again to clean it up time after time again. Is this just me, or am I missing a setting?
If not, why not just make it possible to 'unfollow' a series and let it colapse in or something...
Sometimes my partner and I watch a show together on her profile, sometimes on my profile. It would be nice to mark an episode as "watched" so that when I want to play it from the other profile I don't have to go scrolling through reading descriptions to figure out which one I'm on.
Every so often, I may need to jump from one account to the next (personal, friends, familys, depending on my financial or living situation). Creating a new profile, or switching between them, but wanting to lessen the time spent between adding to My List or finding the episode I'm on in a series.
I realise the latter is simply impossible because Netflix is Netflix, but a guy can dream.
