More Mammoth Bones Found On Chelsea Farm

U-M paleontologists conducted a second excavation this week at the Chelsea-area farm where the skull, tusks and dozens of intact bones of an ice age mammoth were pulled from the ground in late 2015. In this video, Daniel Fisher, director of the Museum of Paleontology, Claude W. Hibbard Collegiate Professor of Paleontology,  and professor of earth and environmental sciences, and of ecology and evolutionary biology, discusses the latest excavation.

New athletic facilities

University leaders and coaches joined donors and other members of the U-M athletic community Saturday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the South Competition and Performance Project. The $168 million, 280,000-square-foot facility along South State Street provides state-of-the-art competition and training spaces for student-athletes.
