~Happy New Year~

Happy New Year, dear friends!!!
I trust you are enjoying your first day of 2019!

I just finished up this sweet little pillow that seems to fit this time of year perfectly!

Jack Frost, by Notforgotten Farm!
Though we don't get snow here where I live, it has been chilly and he fits right in with the
spirit of winter!!!
I just love his sweet face, don't you?!

Another project I am working on is Alphabet Sampler, also by Notforgotten Farm
and I just love this color pallet I have chosen!!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so it is not too early to get busy making hearts,
one of my favorite shapes!!!

With the colder weather here, soup is THE PERFECT meal!  This morning I made a huge
pot of Turkey Carcass Soup!!!  The name may not sound that good, but believe me,
this soup is AMAZING!!!
It is loaded with carrots, green beans, celery, onion, corn, wild rice, and shredded turkey!
I just wish I had a "SNIFF" button on my blog so you could smell it!!!
We will certainly be enjoying it!!

We LOVE bread, too, and will also have this with it!!
Our local Safeway carries it and it is just wonderful with soup!!
Just heat it up in the oven and add some butter!!
What could be better???

To finish off the meal, we will also enjoy some dessert bread that I made!!
It is really more like a cake and is actually made with YELLOW SQUASH!!!!
It is called Lemony Yellow Squash Bread, and it is DELICIOUS!!!!  TRULY!!!!!
The lemon glaze on top really makes it yummy!!!

What will you be having to celebrate the first day of the year??

**************

I want to take this time to thank all of you who have followed along with me this past year, and have purchased many of my hand made creations as well!!!  Your kindness, friendship, and support has been a tremendous blessing to me personally, and I appreciate each and every one of you!!! Thank you for making 2018 so special and I look forward to sharing the blessings of 2019 with you!!!

I found this sweet prayer and thought how perfectly it sums up my feelings as we start this brand new year together!!!

Lord, as the New Year dawns today,
Help me to put my faults away.

      Let me be big in little things;
      Grant me the joy which friendship brings;
Keep me from selfishness and spite,
Let me be wise to what is right.
A Happy New Year! grant that I
May cause no tear to any eye.
When this new year in time shall end,
Let it be said: "I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here
And made of it a happy year."
~Edgar Guest (1881–1959), "Prayer for the New Year"

Wishing each of you Good Things to Warm the Heart and Soul this coming year~

~The Winner Is.....~

Hello, and Happy Thursday to you all!!!
It is a beautiful day here in Arizona,
with sunshine and temps in the mid 80's!!
It just doesn't get much better than that
and I will certainly enjoy each moment!!
This is the time of year when it really is a JOY to live in Arizona!!

It seems that I am NOT ALONE in my love of pumpkins
and so many of you shared some I have never even heard of before!!!
Munchkins, Long Island Cheese, Orange sparklers, Blue Hakkaido
Baby Boos, and Warty Goblins, to name a few!!
Who knew there could be SO MANY??

Photo Compliments of Pinterest

The white pumpkins, or Ghost, seemed to be a favorite,
as well as the Jack B. Little, Cinderella, and Warty Goblins!!
Orange is still the hand's down favorite, but blue and green
are close behind!!

There were also a number of you that love the folk art fabric pumpkins
and all the many things that can be made from real pumpkin,
including breads, cookies, and pies!!!  OH YUM!!!!

Thank you to all of you who entered the Giveaway!

reading about your love of pumpkins, the type and color you love,
