A thrilling zip line ride in the Swiss Alps

During our final exams of mechanical engineering at McMaster University, Canada, we decided to go on a month long Eurotrip covering Switzerland, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands and Germany. I still remember planning the trip at 2 am while taking breaks from studying and searching for hostels and rental cars.

When I look back and think about how much fun we had in Europe, I am so glad I decided to go on that trip before starting the next chapter of my life. I urge all students to save some money during their college lives and explore the world. Travelling with a free state of mind during your student life can be a life changing experience. I don’t remember how many straight A’s I got in college, but I can never forget the crazy things we did in Europe.

After travelling through Spain and Italy, Switzerland was the third century on our list. We rented a car from Italy and went on a road trip through the majestic Swiss Alps.

It took us around 2 hours to drive from Lake Como, Italy to St. Moritz, Switzerland. The best way to explore St. Moritz is to rent a car and drive around beautiful lakes and stunning mountains. Our hostel, Randolins Backpackers, offered a great view of Swiss Alps from a big window of our dorm room. We could watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets over the Swiss Alps without even living our room.

If you plan your trip during summer months, you can enjoy the scenery of lush green Swiss countryside. During winter months, snow covered mountains and frozen lakes provide a perfect opportunity for many winter sports such as skiing, ice skating and snow polo.

Apart from the panoramic natural beauty, St. Moritz offers many interesting activities and attractions such as Engadine Museum, St. Moritz Design Gallery and Chesa Futura also known as House of the Future which. You can also visit Piz Nair, the mountain of the Albula Alps which offers a spectacular view of St. Moritz. If you wish to explore a unique mountain trail with wood and stone sculptures along the way, you can visit Schellen Ursli Path.
