The Furies (or Erinyes, sing. Erinys) were creatures from Greek mythology who exacted divine retribution from those guilty of wrong-doing. Crimes which were especially likely to incur their wrath were those involving one’s family and anything related to oaths. The Furies were also responsible for carrying out curses, and the punishments they dealt out included disease and madness.

Labours of Heracles - Lake Stymphalia

Lake Stymphalia is located in the north-eastern part of the Peloponnese, in Corinthia, southern Greece. The area is also mentioned in Greek Mythology, due to the Stymphalian birds, which infested the Arcadian woods near the lake. Heracles' sixth labour was to exterminate them.

In Norse mythology, Ragnarok is a series of apocalyptic events that will define the end of the world, where giants of frost and fire will together fight the gods in a final battle that will ultimately destroy the planet, submerging it under water. According to the legend, the world will resurface, the surviving and returning gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors.

Mythology regarding the forces of light and the forces of darkness has a long history of debate. However, there is a faction which has not been discussed so much. This is the story of shadows. Are shadows positive or negative beings? What powers do they have over humans and other entities?

I've seen no shadow spirits, or shadow people. However, a beautiful set of stairs, leading up to a beautiful second story. Wanting very much to go up as a child. Asking my mother why we never went up, when older. Answer, it was a one story house. Seeing a bright sparkling light moving about 4 feet off the ground in the middle of the night; attacking me at the speed of light. Clamping onto my head, and trying to gain entry through my ear, by rolling sounds, looking for a combination, throwing me around like a rag doll. Finally releasing me, when entry was not gained. Later, I found out that a lady with 3 children had gone insane forever. I felt that this being was a very old, perhaps from the beginning. And that it had incidious cousin's. The man on the street, talking to himself. The crazy aunt, who lives by herself. I'm not quite sure why this ancient parasite is not better known.

Norse mythology and runic alphabets give clues about the ancient origins of Nordic secret societies and initiatic rites. Guest author Vincent Ongkowidjojo examines the roots of runes and how they shifted and changed across time and cultures and were an integral part of the original Northern mysteries schools.
#history #runic #mythology #mystery
The existence of mystery schools in the Viking Age (800-1200 CE) is deduced from myth and folklore. The poems of the Edda display the structure and content of cultic texts used within the framework of

+John Miller What good can she do? She provides beauty, she provides emotional support, she provides an example of ancient art, she provides learning opportunities, she provides joy and serenity and peace and, and, and. For those who choose to have dealings with Her instead of some other Deity, She can do a great deal of good indeed. What good can you do for Her?

I agree with Kim Dinkins and I want to say something more. That those who have the world on their shoulders, have also the power to destroy it. I mean the government.
