Here's the problem, it doesn't honor the dead to regurgitate bullshit platitudes - God bless him, they protected freedom, etc..
We should be thinking about the propaganda behind why they die, is it true, even if it is true, is it worth it.
By the way, I operated nuclear reactors on aircraft carriers, but I could probably flip burger too. Maybe you should also be thinking about the economics of military service and how for many the military might not be about honor but about self interest.
Also, there's a big difference between defending the country (what we say we do) and Imperialism (what we actually do).

Another interpretation of famous Felix de Weldon’s sculpture. As in picture number 3 on the same topic, this image emphasizes the soldiers’ great effort and hard work. In this picture, I managed to capture one of the many planes taking off every minute from the nearby Ronald Reagan National Airport.
