Another one of my predictions is coming true

Back in May I predicted that “your next business phone will be an Amazon Echo.”

My reasoning was that Amazon will inevitably bring it’s Alexa virtual assistant into the workplace, but it would be focused on conference calls.

My ultimate prediction was that the “business Echo” would be an actual phone, and I still believe that’s coming.

But today we’re learning that Amazon is taking the intermediate step of building a new set of skills for Alexa that involve booking conference rooms, setting up conference calls, and even managing travel plans.

I believe Amazon wants these skills up and running when it launches it’s enterprise version of the Echo — which, again, will be essentially a conference call phone with Alexa built-in.
