Wide-angle Winter Sun 1

Happy New Year to all!

I've been missing on G+ for a while. Things got busy in the run up to Christmas and more recently my graphics card died (now replaced).

I have managed to get out shooting now and then, though many remain to process.

This was from a walk on the Chiltern Hills and gave me a chance to shoot into the winter sun with the X-T1 and a wide-angle lens. Processed in Lightroom using the Adobe emulation of the Fuji classic chrome conversion.

Rose 'Ballerina'

I even had some slightly fragrant roses in flower in the garden on Christmas day. Rose 'Ballerina' is a hybrid musk rose with large clusters of small single 1" polyantha flowers.  Polyantha roses (originally bred in France in the 1800's) have such a long flowering season though I never expected to have flowers in December here in Scotland when I planted it this summer.

If you want a long flowering rose in your garden then I can thoroughly recommend this one.  Its ultimate height and spread is 5ftx3ft.

Thatched Cottage at Longstock
St. Catherine's Cottage in the tiny village of Longstock not far from Winchester. The (low) Sun burst through the clouds for just a few minutes as I was in this place, and I took as many shots as I could in the amazing light ;) This cottage has a little bit of moss on it!

I've got a bit of an obsession with this lake and it's location! 
This is the mountainous lake of Llyn Y Fan Fawr in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It sits on the flanks of Fan Brycheiniog which is the highest of the western peaks (i'm 99% certain of this). 
The car read a cool -3 when I got back to it so it must've been atleast -5 up by the lake. Loved it :) 

A Tip on POSTING TO COMMUNITIES & managing the view seen by others from your main profile... 

Did you know that if you visit your account settings (find it by hovering over the button to the top left of your screen - under the word GOOGLE) and then locate the section titled Profile, you can tick a box that will stop the same pictures appearing multiple times on your profile page no matter how many communities you post the same image to?

If you are still seeing multiple post after carrying out the above try...
the community settings you have set up. There's a bit under the cog in the community that says 'also show post in my home stream'
