Clever Cycles is the go-to place for family bicycling in Portland, period. There are other bike shops -- wonderful bike shops -- that specialize in cargo bikes, but if your cargo is kids then this is the place to go. I bought a used Bakfiets 5 years ago when they were out of stock of new ones and they have always treated me just a good as someone that bought the bike from them. Jeremy in the Service Dept is my personal hero. He has helped me on more occasions than I can count and I always leave feeling happier with my bike. I really can't praise them highly enough.

Awesome bike shop with a great selection of accessories. We rented a pair of folding bikes for our stay in Portland and had a blast.

I went in with minor adjustments needed, but the staff refused to allow me to borrow their tools for a quick adjustment and they were demanding in their duty. For how many bike shops are in the area, I was appalled at how greedy for business they were. I will never return.

Hi Caleb,
I apologize that we did not loan you a tool. It is our policy to let customers borrow a wrench, tire lever, etc. if needed to complete an adjustment or repair. The staff member you spoke to recently came from a shop where the policy was different. We have made sure they are aware of our policy. Thank you for letting us know of your experience.

Ordered a bike from them and it was delivered as promised and exactly as I had requested. A small part was missing and they promptly supplied the part with a photo of proper installation. Great service after the sale and a unique product line for the discerning urban cylist; stuff we don't see much of here in Phoenix. Great people to deal with; highest regards.

Good range of cargo and commuter bikes. Friendly service. Bit on the commercial side, I guess I like my bike shops a little more community oriented.

This is a friendly bike shop with lots of different choices geared toward practical city and family bikes. They have a bunch of cargo bikes, city bikes, folding bikes, and kids bikes. And they have tons of accessories like baskets and lights, and clothes like rain gear, and helmets.

“Clever” cycles indeed but not in a good way.
Beware clevercycles may ship you a returned/used merchandise for the price of a brand new one.
I ordered brompton toolkit for a gift, a hard-to-find pricey brand name item.
It came in an opened packaging and clearly was used.
I will not be buying from clevercycles again.
