Works great Battery drain isn't bad, would guess it's because I don't fiddle with my phone like others. Clear calls when you figure out not to use android contacts tab and find quit option in app. Love the copy number option too. Not having the issues posted, using lg769p worry free. Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Was already a home user but this just made it better.

Association to device is forever Once your device is registered to a account it can never ever I repeat never be removed , meaning if you buy a different magicjack device you will NOT be able to install it on the same device as you installed it on the first time. This is a issue if have a expensive phone. Or want to use your phone you used before. Fix this magicjack and you have a five star app , other than that seems flawless. Please explain why you can't fix it and. I will bump you up to four stars other than that issue app seems good.

Great App, but... This is by far one of the best apps on the market. But in my experience I have noticed that this app only works on a limited number of phones flawlessly. For example I had an LG phone as well as a ZTE phone and with both phones it was difficult to either here the person on the other end or vice a versa. On the ZTE phone the obsidian model you can talk all you want but no one would be able to hear you. However I currently have the Motorola Moto E and the Magic app works absolutely wonderful. It WAS good until "upgraded" I've had this app since 2014. Before I upgraded it last month, I had switched phones a couple times, and was able to use the app with my new phones. However since I've upgraded, I got a brand new phone, and because of their changes it won't work. They're customer service representative told me to get their mjconnect.They wanted to charge me another 10 dollars. They're CSR said my account was only for one phone & he couldn't give me a refund. How is an upgrade worse than the free account?

Nice, but too heavy The app works but it is far too heavy on resources! It eats up an awful lot of memory and takes way too long to get up and running. I have an Asus Zenfone 2 Laser with 3GB of memory and 2 quad core processors. Should be more than enough to run a simple VOIP calling app. Please fix this. Also, the app looks dated. Time for a more modern, much lighter, minimalist look. The icons look like something from 2005. Look at Skype for inspiration. Very simple, clean and beautiful to look at. Thanks.

IMPORTANT: This app is for existing MagicJack device customers, you need the device with an active account to use this app. Non-MagicJack users, use the "Magicjack Connect" app instead if you do not have the MagicJack hardware device. Canadians, call MagicJack Support to have them enter your registered phone number into Magicapp. No SMS available to Canada yet. Some issues with Caller ID (shows as a Florida number). Call quality, better than most cellular providers. Overall 4 stars, will change to 5 once issues are resolved. Really this is best for existing MagicJack customers.

? Says I have to be online, Im connected to my WiFi and everything else connects to the internet through it fine. I don't have magic Jack yet but was going to sign up for it so I can use my phone anywhere that has wifi. Don't really see the point in that if it has to really on already having phone service. The whole point for me is not having to pay 50$ a month. Is it just an issue with certain Android devices or specifically Samsung or is this it's intended use? Will give a better rating if this is fixe
It works well. I always wanted two phone numbers on the same phone and this is a good solution. I really like that I can easily tell which number is ringing because I have two completely different ringtones, one for each number. It's cool that it loads my Google contacts separately from my Magic Jack contacts. The only thing it doesn't do (yet) is allow me to text images but I see they're working on that too.
I thought I can use my old smartphone as a replacement of a regular phone connected to the magicJack plug. But the experience is not so good as expected. This app cannot replace a normal phone. It does not open, when the call is received. You have to open the app first and only then accept the call. You cannot change the stupid ringtone. You cannot send text messages to and from Canadian phone numbers for free. Texting to it costs $0.25. A message from this app never delivered. Text messages are received as a voice mail instead of a text.
This is great ! I use this along with my TracFone. When I'm home I use this exclusively to make calls to text. Saves me a lot of minutes lot of texting. Very clear , never had a problem with this app so far. Love it. I run magicJack in my home for the home phone. I can't even understand why people pay more for phone service. The only downside is you can't send pictures with it. But that is no deal breaker
It's good, but just lacking a couple things I love this app, as it is a great replacement for my home phone. I also love you can now text on it. Just 2 things I think would make this 5 stars: 1. Being able to load this on more than 2 devices without it signing you out. I have 2 tablets and a cell, and that third device is always being logged out. Also, picture messaging would be a great add. It is a great app, and amazingly handy.
Does what it says but eat RAM fast. Great app when you do not want to miss a phone call. But it does sucks quite a bit of RAM to run ans stay on. Only one ringtone for it. Int'l calls to the Philippines will only works for 4 minutes only. Tech support is long wait for very little help, if any at all. Now, if only use for N.America it is a great and cheap option. Hard to beat a $20.00 a year for a phone plan, if suscribe for 5 years. You will also need to renew your number every year for $10.00 or so.
Magicjack great, app needs work! The app is ok. Works as says, but the app itself is lagging; can't delete call log through android phone; and i dont know why data must be on if i have wifi to connect to! Fix these issues and I will upgrade rating. I have had the magicjack at home now for a year, and it works great! Cut my digital phone from TimeWarner and do not regret it at all! Crazy to pay monthly to Time Warner when I can pay one month worth of fees they were charging for the whole year we Magicjack! Highly recommend!
I have a Nexus 5 and if there was ever an app that worked *so* poorly then this is it. If you love apps that will randomly call voicemail when you hide the phone notification then this is the app for you! It also opens the app up at random times when you're in the middle of some other app and will continue to do so. If I didn't rely on my plan then I would erase this disgrace of an app in a heartbeat.
I know that many are saying that this app don;t work and ect... I have the year plan and I love this App........ Of course it doesnt always work properly because you need a good wi-fi connection to make and receive the calls with clarity.. It seems that I have a good internet connection at work and home, so tha application works excellent for me.. Just sayin.. It works well without a phone service, without a network plan . You only need a wi-fi connection.. Excellent if you get four or five bar connections to wi-Fi.... Lovin this app and use it on my android, at my home on laptop and my sister uses it for her group meetings.. Very dependable with a good wi-fi connection.. Five thumbs up..
Think 🤔 doesn't work with nougat 7.0 The app worked perfectly on my s7 edge.. However I recently switched phone 📱 and installed the magic jack app on the LG v20 7.0 nougat and what a surprise it does not work at all.. So being on the go with my home phone is non existence until you guys get a update the app just opens and closes all day long and nothing more. When updated so will I update this review.
Drops calls & No conf calls Constantly drops calls after 1 min with solid signal either 5 bars cell service or indoor WiFi. Also, WTF? with not allowing calls to conferencing phone services like FreeConferenceCall or Anymeeting? I moved my main home landline to MagicJack for seamless service. This is not that and needs to be widely blogged.
This app will NOT connect over WiFi So i bought a magicjack that was supposed to come with a free year of service but didnt. Ok well 35$ later and now i have 1 year service but wait. You also have to pay 10$ a year just to get a Canadian number. Ok so now up to 45$. Finally i should be set. Yea no. The phone i have is all connected correctly and works because it was a new phone i tested it at a neighbours place and all was good. Now im really not happy so as a last effort to make this work im trying the app and it won't accept any wifi.
Call quality Calls that come in and the calls that I make has a bad echo in the background and the SMS feature doesn't work at all. And now to top it all of they are now charging per year to use the app saying that my free trial is over. Uninstalling this piece of crap app!!!
Urgent Update This app is a nightmare on Android platform, last update was about 6 months ago and a lot of problems persist. Sometimes you get a connection error and you have to log out or even worse, restart the phone. I have friends with iPhone with better experience but for Android you need to push an urgent update with bug fixes. ( MM 6.0.1 NEXUS 6 )
Doesn't work with Android Nougat 7.0 The service works pretty well, and the app used to work great. But now it just constantly opens and closes and does not work. It also will not let you dismiss the voicemail notification, ever, and will force you to call voicemail until you've listened them to all.
What happened to the quit function? Subject says it all. Can't stop this app from auto starting. Not good so this app will be uninstalled. Please bring that option back and when you do please list it in the what's new section so I can see that it is fixed before downloading again. Thanks. Using on a Samsung Galaxy S6, Android 6.0.1
Love it The app works great on my memo pad 7 HD, and my ASUS ZenFone 2 laser. Love the sms functionality. Alas a new problem has come up. Its not a telemarketer but some one local and need some way to block the number across all phones not just the app
Upgrade App I like Magic App because you don't have to have credits just to call someone, but the calls are not clear. I find myself screaming just so the other person can hear me and most of the time I just hang up. The calls are not clear at all. I live in an area where reception is great so I know its not my tablet. Please fix this problem so that I continue to use Magic App. Please not that purchased service for a year. 9.99...I would hate to cancel.
TEXTS This is nonsense. I have a Canadian magic jack number it means I have to pay $10.00 US extra yearly to maintain the number. However I am not allow to send texts only US numbers are given that privilege. This is not fair after all I am also a paying subscriber for the service and as such I should be entitled to all rights to.
Just the best Magic jack has been in the market for many years. They started with a usb device that you had to connect to your pc (that one used to burned). They came out with this app. But not for blackberry smart 10's, I ended up buying an android just to be able to use this application. Now I have 2 smart phones for the best of each.
Problems with receiving calls and constant loss of address book Lately the app is loosing incoming calls and the address book!.So it has to be always reloaded, when you try to open it to place a call! Also soundquality is often poor. With other words it is not reliable! Well to cell phone ownes I know oversees I use Whatsapp or Skype. And espcial whatsapp calls are superb compared to MagicApp.
Can't send or receive text messages & have been unable to resolve issue for weeks with support. Only support is via chat which cannot fix anything (non-technical) just file cases which you wait weeks for no resolution. No Phone Support. Absolutely horrible lack of service for a non-functioning product.
Scam This app is doesn't work as it says. Even when you pay for the yearly plan, i did that and i got double charged for no reason. I tried to get the double payment back but they haven't responded to me in 9 months. And the app hasn't worked in 7 months. I give up. I hope no one falls into the same problem like i did. GL
Good app I have been using the majic jack devices for years now and I absolutely love them. However the app not so much. The dialer to me seems to be very slow and it seems very unresponsive at times even. I wish they could address this issue and make this app like there devices, simply amazing.
Error message Never wants to connect unless I'm on my WiFi and sometimes it still won't connect on wifi. ppl can't hear me,this app needs a serious update or upgrade. I've been a magic jack user since it came out so when they finally got an app i thought it would be great but it's horrible!
Calls and messages redirected to a black hole Horrible app. Worked for a month, now it sucks. My phone calls and messages do not come though. I paid to get a stateside number so my family can keep in touch. And its not worth the money or touch
Crap When will magicjack fix the app? My subscription is up for renewal. Couldnt make 1 successful call last year. Software crashes, slow, eats up my battery and requires wide bandwidth. I wish the tool worked better. When is Magicjack going to fix the App. I am not enjoying the service at all. This is one of the worst apps out there. Please fix
Just awful! Downloaded app, immediately upgraded before attempting to use app to make a call bc I solely relied on reviews from tv and internet. Those testimonials HAVE to be fake. Other people cannot hear me whatsoever and all I hear on their end is static. Worse investment ever. After this I definitely won't be purchasing the MagicJack for home phone. It also turns itself off. I have to pull up app to even see if I have a message...
Latest version is buggy I have been using this app for almost 2 years now, the sound quality is excellent. Giving it 3 stars for the latest version - the app just wont stop. The previous version had a 'quit' option which closed the app, it has been removed in the latest version. Please add the quit option again. I keep on getting notifications for the app if my phone doesnt have internet connectivity
Great Application For My Tab4 As long as I have good signal strength from wifi, I never have any troubles. You can't beat the price for a year of phone, texting, call history and voice mail all for $9.95!!! That breaks down to a whopping 0.027 cents a day!!! Oh, did I mention I had a choice of phone numbers!!
Functional The app has some glitches, when messaging someone with the text feature it will send the message at least twice. It takes a lot of ram to start and sometimes just stops for no reason. Atleast it provides me with a phone. I think it very clever and innovative. In time I look forward to giving this app five stars. I would like to see the ability to block numbers added to the service.
Misleading advertising Free calling on mobile? Only if you've already purchased their device. I was prepared to buy the premium app and service, could not find a signup or registration page (none exists within the app), and finally called their 800 number, to be informed that the app is only for those who already have their magicjack device. Very disappointing, and very misleading.
Almost perfect Great app for free calling. Even better after purchasing a phone number. Then calls are free for a year. I'd give it 5 stars if there were settings options. Like changing ringtones. And I really can't believe that there is no option for removing numbers or clearing the "recents" list. That should be an option that ALL dialers/phone apps have. Horrible oversight from Magicjack/MagicApp.
I have been mostly happy with MagicJack's app, until today when my account suddenly "expired" after working fine for more than a year. I called support, and they claim that it is NOT a free service, but a trial offer. Once the offer expires, you must pay to use it. This is not officially disclosed ANYWHERE. Their advice to me was to abandon my account and create a new one. I am very dissatisfied with MagicJack. I uninstalled the app, and will not use their services again.
