He began his second term on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in January 2024 and serves as Chairman of the Environmental Committee and the Legislative Committee. During his first term, he advocated for the Fairfax County Plastic Bag Tax and initiatives to phase out gas-powered lawn equipment. He continues to focus on aligning transportation plans with climate change efforts and improving energy efficiency and natural resources in the County.

LOOK WH'S COMING TO FAIRFAX!&nbsp;OUR AWESOME PANEL: 🌱GEORGE SIEGAL, Filmmaker, podcaster, former local news reporter and weathercaster George Siegal's first-hand encounters with families victimized by natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, and earthquakes inspired him to produce and direct a new cutting-edge documentary, Built to Last: Buyer Beware. The film addresses the issue of poorly constructed homes and the consequences for homowners and communities. The film exposes the consequences of the problem while showcasing examples of well-built structures. Topics of Expertise: How to tackle the challenges of homeownership. What you absolutely need to think about before you buy or rent a home. Quick and easy ways to safeguard your home from any natural disaster. Things you need to do to prepare for disasters. How to know if your home was built the right way and what to do if it wasn’t.
🌱ROB MOORE is the Director of Flooding Solutions within the Climate Adaptation Division of the Natural Resources Defense Council. Moore works to address water-related impacts that result from climate change, particularly the escalating risks of flooding and the effects of sea level rise. The team he leads primarily focuses on issues related to flood insurance, building and land use standards, disclosure of flood risks, and how to improve assistance to people who need to relocate to higher ground. Rob is in the film Built to Last: Buyer Beware.

🌱ELISA SOLOMON is the official 2025 Climate Action NOW Monthly Film Festival's Moderator. Elisa is Project Coordinator at the Fairfax Food Council. She holds a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in food security and nutrition. Elisa comprehensively understands food systems and the interrelatedness of public health, nutrition, the environment, equity, economics, and society. (Our food choices are one of the daily constants in our lives that influence both carbon emissions and carbon drawdown. Simple changes can make a WORLD of difference. Elisa will provide a few tips at each screening.)
