Q. Everything was fine until recently, when my app suddenly stopped working. I haven't changed anything. I know this is your fault!
A. You're probably right. Sorry! The first thing to try is to refresh the feed--in most mobile apps, tap the little arrow-circle icon. If your app has an option to "reset" the feed, try that. If that doesn't work, try deleting the feed and re-adding it from pardcast.com. If you still have trouble, let us know at the email address below.
Q. When I try to add a feed to iTunes or a podcast app, it asks me for a password. I know I'm entering it right, but it still won't accept it. What gives?
A. Both the username and password to access the feeds are case-sensitive (whereas the username to access pardcast.com isn't. If your username is JoeSmith, make sure you're using the uppercase J and S.
Q. Your podcast feeds are password protected, but there's nowhere in my podcast app to enter the username and password. What can I do?
A. Try this trick, which works with some apps. Enter the feed url (the RSS button on the Primo page) in this format, replacing yourusername and yourpassword with your credentials following the case-sensitive rules above:
https://yourusername:[email protected]/feeds/season18/season18.xml
or
https://yourusername:[email protected]/feeds/season18video/season18video.xml
(NOTE: This is not very secure, as you're sending your password unencrypted, so we don't recommend using it if, say, those are also your banking credentials or something. Use at your own risk.)
Q. I use Doggcatcher as my mobile app of choice, but it won't download the Players Club episodes. What can I do?
A. Unfortunately, Doggcatcher doesn't currently support our players club server authentication system. We have heard that they are working on an update that should be released very soon. In the meantime, you can stream or download the episodes directly from pardcast.com, or switch to another app.
Q. Can you recommend an app that works reliably with the new system?
A. The iPhone's native Podcast app seems to work OK. For Android, we've had the best experience with BeyondPod. If you've found another app that works great, feel free to let us know at the address below.
I'm trying to use the "Listen Now" or "Watch Now" in the browser, but I'm having trouble. What should I do?
Some browsers (usually older ones) may have trouble with our embedded player. If you experience this, try going to the Single Episodes link, and to the list of single episodes for that season. If you right click on the Download link for the episode you want, it will open the file in a new tab, and play in the browser that way.
Thank you all for your patience as we've transitioned to the new system. We've always known we have the best fans on the internet, and once again you've proved it! If you have any other questions, please contact us as [email protected].
