CU-Boulder Outreach Committee & Awards
The CU-Boulder Outreach Committee awards funding to faculty projects designed specifically for external audiences. Projects feature an extensive range of disciplines that highlight faculty research, creative work, and teaching. The committee is comprised of CU-Boulder faculty from across campus and community members. Funding for the CU-Boulder Outreach Awards is provided by the Division of Continuing Education, the Office of the Chancellor, and Office of the Provost.The Outreach and Community Engagement Awards website features funding opportunities and spotlights current awarded projects.

Office for Outreach & Engagement
The Office for Outreach & Engagement (OOE) serves the CU-Boulder campus by supporting outreach and engagement activities and initiatives. OOE facilitates internal and external partnerships and generates communication channels for existing and new outreach endeavors of faculty, staff, and students. OOE administers the CU-Boulder Outreach Awards to fund faculty outreach activities annually. Other initiatives include a variety of public programs and community partnerships, and LearnMoreAboutClimate.colorado.edu, which provides an array of educational resources and programs based on CU-Boulder climate research. In addition, the office provides support and communications assistance for faculty and staff engaged in other outreach and engagement efforts. The OOE reports to the Vice Provost for Outreach & Engagement.

CU Engage: Center for Community-Based Learning and Research
CU Engage: Center for Community-Based Learning and Research is a new campus-wide interdisciplinary center that now directs longstanding CU programs (CU Dialogues, INVST Community Studies, Public Achievement, Service Learning and Puksta Scholars) as well as a new Leadership Minor. Based in the School of Education, CU Engage seeks to expand coursework and research efforts that engage with the public through two focal activities: 1) community-based learning and 2) community-based research.

Evaluation and Assessment Resources
Many universities seek to share faculty expertise and university resources beyond the confines of campus, yet evaluating the impact of such efforts on external audiences is a challenge. The Office for Outreach & Engagement commissioned Ethnography and Evaluation Research to examine the needs, opportunities, and challenges for evaluating faculty outreach activities across colleges and disciplines at the University of Colorado Boulder. The resulting four-part report and summaries offer faculty and staff resources for evaluating the impact of various types of university outreach:

In 2011, the Office for Outreach & Engagement commissioned Kenneth Howe, Kristen Davidson, and Chad Nash of the School of Education to evaluate both campus-wide understandings of outreach and evaluation practices of faculty involvement with outreach and engagement activities.
